Dover, a week later.
Alaric's waiting for his wife in front of his parents' house. He thought she said that she'd be here any moment now. The only reason why they didn't go together is that he has just come back from Paris and she just did nothing back in Derby.
"Just out of curiosity," his 16-year-old sister came up to him so suddenly that she almost shock him. "why don't you like Diana? I mean she's a great person. She's beautiful, she's very kind, and she's smart. you know, I saw her reading-"
"Reading doesn't mean someone's smart. Maybe she doesn't have any idea what she's reading or just she's actually just read a novel but make it looks like it's an educational book? Also, she acts really weird like going to the library in the middle of the night just to stare at the rain through the big glass window."
"Look, I may not understand Mandarine and Russian, but that doesn't mean I don't have any idea of what she's reading. There's a picture of a human brain on the cover, AND she explained to me what the books were about." Victoria said to him.
"Yeah, and what's that about?"
"Political abuse as in misuse of psychiatric diagnosis in Russia. You want to know more about it?" Diana said suddenly as she suddenly appeared with her duffle bag on her left side and a small bag on the other. "Shame, I don't have the time to lecture an oblivious barrister like you, though. Come on, Vic."
Now, Ric's the one who considers himself as the dumb one. 'Still doesn't explain the fact that she goes around the house at night to sit in corners.' he thinks to himself.
Diana went to her room just to find a guy is laying on the bed with his eyes fixed on a book in his hand. "What are you doing here Mitchell?" she asked. "You're not married to Ric."
Mitchell looks at her and smirked. "Well, I've been considered family since I was 5 and this used to be my room- Oh, do they know you sneaked here every night to sleep instead with your husband?" Diana kept on silent and muttered a curse under her breath.
Mitchell put his book down and walked towards her. "Look, can you please just act like a married couple for at least this last 2 months? Maybe both of you can sort things out, you know, saving this ship? He's not that bad, honestly."
Diana threw him a dirty look. "He's not that bad? What, are you an idiot? Don't you see how he looks at me?" Mitchell only shrugged his shoulder. "We disgust each other. That ship should be sailed with him and Miranda fucking Jackson only."
Mitchell couldn't keep his smile as he really thinks that this girl in front of him is really jealous, and the fact that it's adorable that it goes the same every time with his best friend. "Well, here's a scoop, yeah? Alaric Frederic Richmond is actually available right now- actually it's been like 2 months already- but anyway, if you think about it he's only available for you only."
"They broke up?"
"I mean if you really wanna really want to know the whole story, here's a recommendation, pillow talk," he said as he walked towards the door out and walked towards the living room.
"I'm not doing pillow talking shit, Mitchell," she said loudly over the door.
Suddenly, another figure came in vision, leaning at the side of the door. "You're planning to fuck him?"
Diana realized who he is and just shoved him off as she walked to the wardrobe to take something she left the last time she went here. "Why'd you ask?"
Alaric didn't say anything as he took her duffle bag on the floor and just stormed out of the room, going towards his room. He went there in the first place to tell her that Mitchell is occupying that room and that she should sleep in the same room. A small part of him actually giddy about the idea of it. He doesn't expect any more than just in the same room with her and finally talks things out, but if it ever went there, he actually wouldn't know what's bound to happen next in their relationship.
