The Calamity Waves Prologue

In a world where magic flows through the air, comes five kingdoms to rule the lands and elements.

The long undisturbed peace disappeared because of a threat that comes to destroy the land and magic. But as the danger arrives, the kings and the people seek help from the goddess of creation, Era.

She answers, and gifts them ten mythic weapons to repel the threat.

And so, ten warriors fought the threat and repelled the invasion. But legends sate that as evil was defeated a new force of evil came to destroy the lands. It was said that ten warriors and their descendants will defend the land from the threats.

Each time a warrior passed away, the mythic weapon will be hidden from false warriors. It has been over 1000 years since the forces of evil arrived. Now, new chosen warriors have come to fight.

In a village near the kingdom of wind and lightning, a thirteen year old boy lived a peaceful and free life with his mother and sister.

His story began when his family ended.

As I lay on the grass, staring at the sky and clouds, I hear a scream in the distance:

"Len! Come on, it's time for dinner!"

It was my sister calling me to go home to eat dinner. I stood up and went to my sister who is waiting for me so that we can go together.

As were getting near the house, my sister went ahead of me and I chased after her but before I did, I saw a family moving into the city on the stone paths.

As I enter the house, my mother was waiting for me with a pouch in her hands.

I asked about it and she said, "It's for you, dear. It's from your father. And there is also a note in it.

My mother gave it to me and said,
"Why don't you read it before we start dinner?"

My mother gave me the letter and used my hunting knife to open it.

The letter says: "Dear Len, this letter will have arrived as I enter my permanent business occupation. I'm sorry if I was not there for you and I forgot your birthday last week. So, this is my gift to you. It serves as a gift and a destiny you'll find out soon. From: Dad."

I was filled with happiness and relief because my dad was doing okay.

I opened his gift and I see two gems, glowing like stars. I touch the gems and everything went black. When I came through I saw a spirit of a dragon.

The spirit greeted me and said,

"Greetings child. I am the spirit inside the gems. And I am here to explain your destiny as one of the ten mythical warriors."

I was confused but the spirit explained it to me.

The gems only react to those who have the purest hearts and souls, and that the spirit explained to my father that I'm one of the descendants of the mythical warriors.

My father believed it and sent it to me as a sign of ny destiny.

A light was appearing and the spirit said, "Our time is almost done so I'll give you my last advice for now.

You can't save someone you love if you can't stop the ones who killed them."

I heard the last words of the spirit. And then—I was at the sofa with my mother worried. "Are you okay? You have been staring at the gems for a while now."

"I'm okay, mom. Just... happy."

My mother set up the plates. My sister and I sat down the table then said our prayers. We were eatinh dinner when, suddenly, smoke appeared just by our window.

I stood to check what was happening and I saw goblins and ogres attacking the village. I ran to tell my sister and mother but they're not at the table.

I went to the back door and I saw my mother in thr hands of an ogre and my sister lying on the ground, crying. My mother yelled at me,

"BOTH OF YOU! You need to run now!"

"I'm not leaving without you!" I yelled and armed myself with a hunting knife.

I rushed to attack the ogre. I managed to cut the ogre's arms and free my mother.

I grabbed my mothet and sister's arms and ran out of the village. We managed to hide.My mother said,

"They are attracted to the gems you have. They won't stop. I'll distract them while you escape."

I refuse and I soon stop her. My sister suddenly grabs my hand and runs.

"What are you doing! You're leaving mom behind! We have to go back for her!"

"I'm sorry, brother, but I can't let you do that.

" What do you mean? Did you plan to leave her behind? "

"I'm sorry but I have to fulfill mom's wish. I can't let you die."

"No... no, let me go. LET ME GO NOW!"

Then everything went black.

When I woke up, I was in a tent in the woods. I left the tent and saw my sister cooking food.

"How long was I out?" I asked.

"Three days. When we ran out of thr village, I passed through other villages and asked for equipment. They gave me a tent, some food, water, medicine and weapons."

She opened a bag that the other villagers gave her and showed me the stuff including two weapons. She told me one was a wand, used by magic casters, while the other was a pair of armed glove.

"So when did you learn magic?" I asked.

"When I was five, mom taught me magic so I could defend myself."

"Why... Why did you leave mom behind?"

"I-I didn't want to, but you are the only one who can save this world. So when the package that dad gave you arrived, mother and I also received a letter from dad. It was about your path in life."

I was silent. And then my sister hugged me. She started crying on my shoulder. She cried and cried until she fell asleep. I put her in the tent and remained guarding.

Morning comes and we start moving again.

"Where are we going now?"

"To the mountains of dragons"
