Mitis Archeological Site
"Derrick, any changes detected today?"
"Nope. Nothing's different." Derrick, the other archaeologist replied. "Thing's been sitting in there all day."
"Wish we had some idea on why it's there." The first one sighed.
"Hey, relax. We'll get to the bottom of this...?" Derrick tried to comfort him before they noticed the sky getting darker all of a sudden.
"Hey, I don't recall forecasting any rain..." The first one said as they looked up and saw a large storm cloud, before a downpour came down.
"Whoa! This is sudden!" Derrick shouted as he looked around. "Get in the cave!" He said before the two dived in, clothes soaking wet.
"Where did that storm come from?" Derrick asked as he drenched his coat, but the Archaeologist's attention was no longer with his colleague, as he stared at the cavern wall.
Buried partway in the dirt and rock, was a stone tablet, symbols unfamiliar carved in it. Yet to their astonishment, the walls rumbled as the symbols glowed before changing themselves, before the tablet was set down again.
"Fascinating..." The Archeologist said.
=============================
"Wonder what's happening outside, looking like it's pouring." Aye said as he glanced put of his bedroom window while the Battle Theatre show was interrupted by a news flash.
"This just in, a storm has appeared out of nowhere in southeast Roria!" The news anchor exclaimed. "Meteorologists are stumped by this anomaly in the weather that appeared so suddenly. As we continue to investigate, we will keep you informed. As always, tune into Roria News on 6 to stay up to date with everything happening."
"Huh, a storm happening out of the blue. That's unusual." He said before turning off the TV in his room.
"Hey Honey, could you please come down stairs?" A voice called down from the stairs.
"Coming, Mom!" Aye called back as he headed towards his wardrobe, settling on a crimson shirt with a dark robe, as well as black jeans and shoes.
Finally, he headed back to his desk, where two boxes lay. The first was a black box, while the second was torn apart.
The first was a belated present, a silver Loomiwatch, a piece of tech that was almost standard gear for every Loomian Trainer, at least to the ones he saw on TV before putting it on and turning to the second box.
It was already open, and inside was a leather eye patch with a dark red stain that, if looked from a distance or the dark, resembled a pupil. Sighing, Aye carefully took it out before glancing at his reflection in the now blank TV screen. Looking back at him, was his own scarred face, necrotic wounds slashed across his left eye, contrasting the dark rings around it.
"You wanted to see me?" Aye asked as he slid down the rails and into the kitchen.
"Oh there you are. Your father called a moment ago, he was at the dig site when the storm came." Aye's mom said as she finished putting away the desk.
"Really. What happened?" Aye asked, suddenly worried that his father was swept away by the storm.
"He said something very interesting has happened to the stone tablet he was studying. He insisted on showing you." His mom explained, before noticing the Loomiwatch on his wrist.
"I see you tried out your new Loomiwatch. You'll need to set it up. I'll teach you about your new Loomiwatch later. I've got to get going, I need to check on the Loomians we've been caring at the lab. They're not trained, so I'm worried they may get startled." She said as she grabbed a raincoat.
Aye nodded understandingly, subconsciously touching his eye patch. He knew too well about the dangers Loomians can present when they're afraid; he had been on the receiving end on it.
"Don't forget, your father wanted you to go see him at the dig site." She added as she opened the door, where the sound of rain pouring could easily be heard. "Be careful of the weather out there." She said before rushing out.
Elsewhere...
"So, you're an...Embit?" He asked as he stared at the little rabbit creature. It nodded cheerfully and began to hop around.
"Kind of reminds me of a Scorbunny." He said. "Alright, little guy. I'm not sure I could be your...trainer, if that's what they're called in this world?" He began as he crouched down. The Embit stopped as it looked at him curiously.
"Em?" It asked, looking confused.
"Embit, I'm not from this world, and to be honest, I wasn't supposed to even be here." He sighed. "I will need to find some way to get back..." He said, before the Embit hopped over and tugged on his trousers.
"Embit!" It said, pointing to a Trainer Center. A thought crossed his mind, before he smiled at Embit.
"Maybe having you with me isn't so bad after all."
