indecisive adj.
not settling an issue

I looked at the two boys in front of me, their eyes pleading, waiting for my answer. I never expected myself to get caught in this situation. I never should've dragged this along. I knew this day would come. I realized that indecisive was the perfect word for this situation.

I'm getting ahead of myself, though. We need to go back to the beginning. But we don't have very much time, these boys' eyes are giving me daggers.

It all started on a cloudy day, which was unusual for August. The first day of my senior year. I only had one really good friend. Pretty much everyone else here hated me or didn't know who I was. I ran up to my friend, Jenny. We don't even greet each other, first we do our super secret handshake. It's lame, I know.

First, smack hands sideways twice, two fistbumps, booty bump and jazz hands.

"Elodie!"

"Jenny!"

"Are you ready for the best years of our lives?", she asks me.

"I'm not too sure it's going to be the best, Jen. It's just like any other year.", I roll my eyes.

Right as I walk into the halls of school, I am right on my face. Of course. Being tripped was nothing new for me. I look up at the figure who caused this and rolled my eyes. Finn Turner. He had that slight closed lip smile and one raised eyebrow that all the girls fell for, but I don't get it.

"Sorry little lady, maybe watch where you're going next time.", he gives me a wink and walks away.

It was hard not to suck in a deep wiff of his strong cologne, leather, and cigarettes. I get up and dust myself off, rolling my eyes when I catch Jenny noticing my flushed face.

"The Finn Turner just made contact with you? How do you feel? Do you have a new perspective of life?", Jenny jumps excitingly.

"Yeah, my perspective is," I pause,"You, and all the other girls here are crazy to fall for that no good bad boy."

"Oh come on, how do you not have a thing for bad boys?", she groans as we get to our lockers.

"Why do I have to have a thing for any boys?", I roll my eyes.

"Wait, Elodie are you...playing for the other team?", she folds her arms and says in a low voice.

"No! Jenny, boys are just stupid and can't be trusted. I'd like to wait for when we graduate so I can date a real man.", I slam my locker after grabbing my books.

"Oh, honey, you cant wait for Patrick Dempsey."

"Shut up! I can wait for him as long as I want.", I start walking to my class.

I hear a little giggle from Jenny behind me. We head off to our first classes. I had calculus first, which was absolutely painful, but at least I get it out of the way first thing in the morning. I made sure to get there before anyone else so I could snag a seat in the back. The teacher looked at me with a suspicious face.

"You're here early.", she says.

"Well, I-uh.", I just left it at that because social situations aren't my forte.

Soon the bell rang and everyone came rushing in. It sucked that Jenny and I only had two classes together. Time went by, the teacher blabbing about who knows what, but then something grabs my attention.

"And why weren't we here on time, Mr. Turner?"

I look up and see Finn coming in the door, with no books or a backpack, standing there with a smug expression. His soft, dark blonde, short, curly, windswept hair laid right on his perfectly angled face. He glanced around at the classroom, his eyes going right over my head, of course, not noticing me or most people. His eyes landed on the teacher.
