I figured out that I'm in Michigan. That is a helpful thing to know so I know where I'm going. I take an exit and stop at a Starbucks Coffee.
I sip my latte as I sit by the nice fireplace. I notice some people stare at me, probably because I have a choppy haircut and haven't showered in three days and my clothes are a bit dirty. I should probably go and buy some new clothes with my credit card. My credit card. I'm hoping it still works and my parents didn't disable it or withdraw the money. Shoot.
I find a phone booth and dial the home phone, thank god my sister answers.
"Hello?" her voice speaks on the other line.
"Ruthie! It's Margo!"
"Margo?! I miss you! Please tell me you changed your mind and you're coming home?" she pleads.
"No. I'm not coming home. I don't want to see mom or dad ever again. I need you to do me a favor. Please tell me I still have money on my card?"
"Yeah. I overheard mom and dad talking, they're going to keep adding money to your card because they still care about you and said they wanted you to be comfortable. Lucky you."
"Thanks Ruthie. I miss you, I might buy another cellphone so I can keep in touch with you. And-and if you see Quentin, tell him I miss him." I smile to myself.
"I will. I miss you too, Margo. Have fun on your adventures." she whispers.
"Thanks. Bye." I hang up the phone and drive to an outlet to buy some new clothes.
