Jimin pov
I wandered around the streets with tear strained cheeks. Getting some weird looks from strangers, but I didn't care and they didn't care to confront me either.
I kept on walking without a destination.
"Hey sir!" I looked down and saw pair of big innocent eyes staring up at me.
I smiled down at the little girl.
"Are you lost-" I tried to ask.
"Why were you crying?" She asked straightforwardly. My smiled dropped a little and tears were forming in my eyes again. "Sir? Are you okay?"
I felt small tears sliding down my cheeks again.
"Emily! There you are!" A woman came to hug the little girl.
"I was so worried- " She gasped.
"Are you alright mister?" I hid my face in my hands and tried to control my sobs. "N-no" I quietly managed to say.
The woman had a concerned expression. Suddenly she came closer to me and hugged me tightly. I sobbed harder and clutched onto her shirt.
"Shhh, everything will be allright" She whispered and patted my head.
I slowly calmed down in the arms of a woman I have never met before.
"Could you come over to my house, so maybe you could talk about it?" She asked kindness in her voice with warm eyes. I slowly nodded. 'I'll go, there's nothing to lose' .
She took the hand of the little girl and mine too and started leading us to her house. The woman opened the door of the house of hers.
It was a small comfy house. Warm colored decoration. A beige sofa infront of the television and grey pillows on it, a light pink mat on the floor."You can put yout shoes there"
I took of my shoes and placed them there. "Oh right, I forgot to introduce myself. I am Belinda and this is my daughter Emily" She smiled at her daughter. "I am Jimin" I said with a little smile. "What happened to make you cry like that?" Belinda said and made me sit on the couch with her daughter. "Have you heard of the legend of an ability to talk to spirits and stuff?" I asked with a sad smile plastered on my face. "Yeah. It might sound crazy, but I have that ability..."
My eyes widened in shock.
"I-I have it too..." Belinda's eyes widened too. Then she smiled knowingly. "Now I know why were you crying. It's about the shadow side of the ability right?" "Y-yeah"
"What kind of like shadow is yours?"
"People who know me forget me eventually..." I said trying to hold in my tears. Belinda hugged me and sadly smiled. "So your fear is being forgotten?" I looked up at her and nodded. She hummed and continued.
"Actually the shadows are our materialized fears, we can actually get rid of them by overcoming that fear. Even though it might be almost impossible" Belinda sadly smiled.
"You know a lot about this... What is your shadow then?" I asked sadly.
She whimpered. "Losing someone I truly care about and love, that's my biggest fear and it will always be.
Everyday I worry about my daughter, knowing something might happen, because of my ability. Nothing has happened to her and if there is a god I'm truly grateful for keeping her safe" Belinda said tears in her eyes.
"That actually is beautiful. You fear more for your loved ones and at the thought of losing them. When I start to think, I realize how selfish my fear is. Fearing about being forgotten and fearing that I'll have nothing to prove I was once lived here..." I looked down little ashamed. "No, it's not selfish. Our fears are kind of similiar.
Yours is painful in another way than mine, I would also cry if I was slowly disappearing" Belinda patted my back and smiled warmly at me.
"Do you mind if I ask, wh-where's the father of her?" Belinda's warm smile turned into a sad one immediately, she looked at the groung and exhaled.
"I will tell you. Emily! Could you go play in your room?" "Yes mommy!"
Emily toddled away to her room cutely. Belinda looked her daughter closing the door, once it was closed she begun. "I was first happily married with my husband...Then we went to a doctor, because of something I felt in my stomach. The doctor said 'Congratulions! You're pregnant!' we both smiled back then and he hugged me lovingly. After three months my husband started to become distant. I first didn't suspect anything, but after a month he started coming home really late saying it was about work. I grew a little suspicious, but I still didn't say anything. Then four months passed, he sometimes didn't come home at all. I really needed him that time, because the baby would come after a month, but he just wasn't there" A tear slided down Belinda's cheek and she paused for a second but then she continued.
"Then it was time for the baby to come, I was alone and felt the pain. I had to call the ambulance by myself.
I went trough it alone the whole thing. He wasn't there that time and he wasn't at home when I came back with my baby. T-Then one night when I was out for a run, I saw him kissing another woman. I-I walked up to them and got the woman off him and shouted 'What the fuck! Aren't we married! I thought you loved me!' He just shoved me off and shouted back
'You're a disgusting bitch! Don't touch me anymore or contact me! I'll bring the divorce papers later to you!' I started crying there, but I didn't want to cause a bigger scene so I ran home.
He then came home the next day to get me sign the paper, which I did sign and now after four years he has a new girlfriend a new happy life and he never got to see our daughter and our daughter will never see or meet her d-dad" Belinda started crying, I hugged her immediately. She calmed down a little after crying some time and hugged me back. "It's okay now. I'm capable of taking care of her alone, even though I'm busy with my work too. I can still give Emily the happy life she deserves" I stared at Belinda sadly and with respect.
'She's a really strong woman'
"You're husband....should go to hell"
Belinda laughed a little. "Yeah, but it's because of my ability. So I can only be sad and angry at myself, but I still try to smile for Emily and give her love"
Belinda warmly smiled at the thought of her daughter.
"Oh, I'm so sorry! I invited you here, so you could tell about your problems and here I am babbling my eyes off while telling my sad marriage stpry from four years ago!" She said and slapped her forehead. "Haha, don't scold yourself from that!" I smiled at her. "You know. You're really beautiful Jimin, I guess it's the perk of the ability too. To get such angelic beauty! I would have mistaken you for an angel on the streets if you weren't crying!" Belinda suddenly exclaimed smiling. I blushed a little at the conpliment. "Y-yeah, the perks should me luck and beauty, but I always feel unlucky when someone forgets me. I still have got lucky in different things though. What about you?" "Oh, I get succeess. Which is true, since I have a really high paying job at the time and I'm currently saving money to buy a bigger house. I could buy that already though, but I want to have money left after buying it" Belinda smiled at me and I smiled back. "I think you got something else too. A warm heart and a kind smile"
Belinda blushed a little. "T-thank you,
oh! The clock is already that much! How about you come here tomorrow, so you can tell me what happened" She suggested. "Sound good, well see you tomorrow!" "See you!"
I was about to exit the house but Emily rushed to hug me.
"Bye bye Uncle Jimin!" She smiled brightly at me. "Bye Emily!"
I exited the house with a smile.
'Things got a little better, even when I thought everything was over!'
I smiled to myself and walked in the streets of the city.
2.30am and I am doing this instead of sleeping. :))
I'm gonna be dead tomorrow.
