"lou, he's fast asleep. he's been fast asleep since he came in." harry whispers. "you can go to sleep, too, love." he presses a kiss to the boy's nose. "i've got to go meet liam in the waiting room, he's got your bag, and percy's bag."

louis' bites his bottom lip. "what if he wakes up while you're gone?"

"i'll be gone for five minutes."

"he could wake up, and i won't be able to get him."

harry smiles. "love, if he wakes up, press the button, and a nurse will come in, and help you with him, okay?"

louis hesitantly nods.

"i'll be right back."

"okay." he whispers.

harry shuts the door quietly behind him, and louis uses the button on the bed to raise it higher so he can get a better look at the little bundle in the plastic crib. he smiles slightly at the sight of the newborn. his newborn. he has a newborn baby.

percy looks just like him too, has all his facial features, besides his lips and fingers (they'll be long like harry's ((the kid'll probably be tall too - taller than louis at seventeen, probably))).

louis hears a little squeak come from him, and his eyes go back up to the baby. he watches as his little eyes open, and he looks around confused, before he spits out his pacifier and starts crying.

louis quickly grabs the remote and pushes the nurse button, and within a minute a nurse is in, already holding a little bottle. "hello." she smiles. she sets the bottle on the nightstand, and carefully picks the baby out of the crib, and hands him over to louis. "i've been waiting for this little guy to wake up. he's probably hungry, he hasn't eaten anything."

louis nods, cradling his teeny tiny son in his arms.

"alright, so take the bottle, and he should latch onto the nipple. make sure you're holding up the bottle so he's not taking in air. that would make him uncomfortable and fussy." she says, handing him the bottle.

louis arranges him so he's holding onto him with one arm and holding the bottle with the other. he puts the nipple of the bottle to his mouth, but as soon as percy feels it he shuts his lips. "um..." louis looks up at the nurse, panic rising in his belly.

the nurse smiles. "tap his lips, he should open right up."

louis does, gently, but the baby refuses to open up. louis looks up, on the verge of tears. "why isn't he eating? what's wrong with him?"

the nurse laughs. "nothing, love. i'm thinking he thinks it unnatural. i know you don't want to breastfeed, but i think your little one might want that. would you be willing to give it a try?"

he nods. he'd be willing to give just about anything a try at this point, just as long as he eats. "yeah. um... what do i do?"

"i'll pull down your gown, you swap over the baby so he's facing your chest, and lead him to your nipple." she explains, walking to the other side of him to pull down the side of his gown, exposing his red and swollen chest.

louis swaps percy over so he's facing his chest, and leads him up. "uh... do i... like... put him on it... or?"

"yes, he'll probably open right up. it'll feel weird at first, might hurt a little, but you'll get used to it. just don't pull him off if it feels weird. i've seen people do that, and it just upsets the baby terribly."

"okay..." he puts him closer, his lips on his nipple, and sure enough, he opens up and starts suckling. "oh."

she grins. "that was the problem, then."
