~Tokoyami~

For the millionth time, Tokoyami got another hug. Hawks gave him a strong embrace.

The tension in the class dissipated.

Tokoyami was reminded of his small size yet again as Hawks giant wings wrapped around them.

"I missed you... My boy."

"I missed you too... Dad."

That word felt foreign to him, because now it meant something different in his internal dictionary.

After years of abuse, 'Dad' and 'Mom' had changed its meaning.

--

"Oh my god, he's staring at us again!"

Tokoyami timidly glanced at his parents from his room.

"Yo... Yoshiko, help me!"

"Don't worry, I am beside you, Kotori."

"Tell him to go away!"

A vaguely humongous shadow loomed over him.

"GO AWAY!"

He ran back and slammed the door, his throat aching from the pulsating of his heart, trapped in his gullet.

He leaned his back on the rough, rotten door. His eyes meeting the dull, empty room in front of him.

"I've had enough"

"He can still hear you, Kotori."

"So what if he can! We're treated like we own the devil! We live in fear and embarrassment every day!"

"I'm going to go mad if this keeps up."

"Kotari..."

"If I'd known he had such a satanic quirk, I wouldn't have given birth to him!"

"Honey, is it because of our quirks?"

"No, our quirks are nowhere near close to that repulsive creature."

"He's not related to us, he doesn't even look like us."

Tokoyami felt his eye sting, his tears were drained. All that's left was a buildup of emotions and a child without a sanctuary.

He slid down the door, his legs unable to support him further.

"Yoshiko, I can't support the three of us any further, that demon doesn't deserve my money."

"No, there's only two of us."

"You can't just ignore him, he's a threat to us!"

"No, as in, there will only be the two of us. I shall undo your past mistakes...

Abort him."

WHAM!

The door slammed open with Yoshiko standing in the doorway, holding a shiny object in his left hand.

But the empty room was empty like it has always been, an open window greeted him.

It should have always been empty.

Dad? Mom?

Murderers.

--

"D... Dad? "

Hawks repeated, his grin slowly returned.

"Dad."

Tokoyami looked in Hawks eyes, the clouds have been cleared.
