LOST IN OUR WORLD

When they met for the first time in 15 years, it was weird but at the same time it also felt like they are at home again. They knew everything about eachother, yet nothing at all. He was hurting more that he knew and she was lost more than she was ready to admit. But she knew his pain and he knew he was her home.

They were standing in the same room, each in the other corner not ready to come closer, no matter how much they wanted to. Because you see, when they left eachother they were completly different persons they are now. They were just teenagers that didn't know betteri mean how could they?

She grew up in a foster care, when her parents gave her up. She could never understand why, even though she had read the letter a million times before. It was special to her somehow. As if that was the last proof of love from her mom and dad. Inside, there wasn't much written. Just a few lines saying that they're sorry but that she's going to be okay. Maybe she would never be able to uderstand excatly why, because the reason was never mentioned. Yet she needed something to at least pretendshe made up the story of how they were either broke or dying; that was the only way she could move on without looking for them. If they gave her up, they surely wouldn't want to see her again, right? And even if they would, she wasn't sure she could handle whatever they were dong now.

That's why when she met him, he felt so familiar.

He grew up running from his family. His dad alcholic and would always beat him up and even though his mom wasn't doing the same, she also wasn't doing anything to stop his father. She would rather go outside their house to smokeat least she couldn't watch them. He kept telling himself that the reason she wasn't able to watch was because of the love she felt towards him and his dad. Once he grew up and was taller and stronger than his father he could finally stand up for himself. It hurted every cell in his body to do that, because he loved his parents regardless. When he met her, he was long gone – his parents would never see him again and maybe thats why he could finally let down his guard and let himself feel the pain. Becuase he was with her and nothing bad can happen if they're thogether, right?

Even now, after all this time of not seeing eachother, of not being thogether where they knew they belonged; even now they weren't going to last.

She was here in this small room with a man, that proposed to her after five years of knowing her and they were going to travel the world thogether.

He was here in this small room with a girl he started dating two years ago and that looked at him like he hung the moon. Their smiles were both fake and were telling a story of their happines, while their eyes were telling the truth. Their feelings hadn't dissapiered but their story was about to end anyway.

He was going to let the drinking kill him slowley and she was going to jump of a bridge. The sad part is, if they knewif they would have just told eachother how they felt and let themselves be thogetherhe would have been okay and not broken and she would have found her home and not the ending to her pain.

What do you think about it? Let me know in the comments, I would really appriciate it.
