I smile brightly at the numbers on my wrist. Just 10 more hours until I meet my soulmate. My heart flutters. Who would that special someone be? I sigh and get up from my bed. Time to get ready for work. I start to get ready for a shower as my mind wanders. I wonder if I'll meet them at work. No, I only do 8-hour shifts. Work starts in an hour. So I'll meet them an hour after work? Work is only a 20-minute walk from here. How odd.

I finish up my shower and start getting my work outfit on. I've always enjoyed working at the small diner. The owner is so funny and some of my friends work there. I don't mind being a waitress. I meet a lot of people and I enjoy serving any family members who decide to surprise me. I look at my watch. 9:35 am. I should start heading to work.

I breathe in the early autumn air as I step out onto the street. It's lovely outside. The leaves fall around me as a walk to work. It gives me a mystical sensation. Like I'm walking through a fictional world or something. I smile to strangers and keep looking up at the clouds in the sky. A storm must be coming in.

I walk into the diner and make sure all the tables are clean before it opens. Throughout work, I get good money from tips and share some jokes with my coworkers. It rains outside a good bit, but thankfully the rain lightens up as it nears the end of my shift. It's surprisingly dark when it reaches 4pm thanks to the grey clouds in the sky. I hope it doesn't rain when I walk back. I start to get my stuff together to leave when it hits me. I'm going to meet my soulmate in an hour. I was anxious. How am I going to meet them?

As I walked towards the doors of the diner to leave, my coworker yells out to me and asks for some help before I leave. I agree and put my stuff down and help them clean up a bit. We make some jokes and we're cleaning and when we're done, they say thank you. I exit the diner at around half past 4. I'm so excited to meet my soulmate! Just a half an hour more!! I can't wait.

I walk towards my apartment as the chilly air nips at my legs and arms. The lights of the town really make it feel kinda magical. I'm actually glad I'll be meeting my soulmate in this weather. As I have my head out in the clouds I hear a honk. Suddenly I realize I stepped out into the road without looking. I stepped backwards to let the car pass and I say sorry and wave. Oops. At least they had time to slow down for me.

As I continue walking and enjoying the view of the city. I hear footsteps behind me. Far enough for it to not be extremely worrying. But close enough for me to hear. I take no mind to it until I realize he's been behind me for some time. I decide to not go to my apartment. Towards that direction, yes, but not towards it exactly. Minutes and minutes pass and he's still following me.

(seriously guys, if you're being followed, especially in a car, don't go to your house unless someone is there waiting to protect you)

Anxiety rushes up and down my spine. My stomach feels heavy. My brain rushes over the course of events that could happen. I keep walking and making sure there's distance between us. I take a deep breath in a look at my surroundings. I see another person walking down the road. From the lights I can see he has dark brown hair and he's.. walking a golden retriever. An idea pops into my mind. I know I'm putting all my trust into a stranger but I'd rather do that then be left to go through whatever that man wants.

I get out my phone and open notepad and type a few words before jogging up to the man from behind. I link my arm into the one that's not holding onto the dog. "Oh my god! I haven't seen you in a while!" I give him a pleading look and hold out the phone for him to see. The man behind me has been following me. Please play along. We kept walking as he read my words. "Y/N, it's been such a while!" he said "I think Chica missed you." Chica was sniffing my legs and I pet her head.

"Hey... Uh, can I see your wrist?" I pulled up my wrist. Zeros. He's my soulmate? My head tilts up to look at him, my mouth open. He looks familiar, now that I have a good look at his face. I recalled feeling a tingling sensation once I looped my arm around his. I looked behind us. The guy is gone. I looked at my soulmate. "My name is Y/N. I'm so happy I met you at the right time." "My name is Mark. I'm very glad my presence could be the reason you weren't hurt."

Mark. Mark... M-Markiplier? "The one and only," he says. Did I say that out loud? "Hey, wait, you knew my name before I introduced myself. How did you know?" I asked, remembering how he said my name. "You still have your tag on from your work," he says. I look down at my chest. I didn't take it off. I say a small "oh yeah"

Suddenly, I was within his two warm arms. I let out a yelp of surprise. I accept his warmth. I bathe in it. His scent is new to me, but it's very nice. His warmth and scent makes any negative emotions wash away from my body. I feel so safe. "Thank you," I muttered. "Thank you," he says, "I just suddenly realized I met my soulmate. After all this time. Y/N, I've known you for maybe 15 minutes and you've already made me so very happy."

I pulled back from the hug and, thanks to adrenaline, I pressed my lips to his. His arms went around my waist, pulling me close as my arms went around his neck. I can't believe it.
Markiplier is my soulmate.
