BOWYN POV

I HAVE ORIENTATION TOMORROW. I'm not excited about starting community college, but I'll only there for one semester starting in the middle of August. I am kinda nervous about it.
It's college — well, community college; nothing something to get so nervous about. But, soon afterwards I'll be going somewhere far away. I won't be here, and I won't be able to see anyone anymore. I haven't told anyone yet. Not even to Noen, or Benji.
It's been two weeks since they've come home from the cabin trip, and nothing much has changed with anyone — of course, Chase isn't really talking me, and I'm not talking to him at the moment. Benji is planning on moving in with Jorge after the summer is over, and Noen — Noen has been distant since coming back.
He hasn't tried to contact me at all, and only has spent his time just staying home. I was a bit worried, of course; I called him up a few times to see if he wanted to catch a movie or something, but he always ends up not wanting to do anything.
Maybe, it had to do with Milo, and their breakup. He's heartbroken, and so is Milo. But, Milo is trying to move on from it — it'll take time with Noen.
Speaking of time, I've wanted to talk to Chase, but never actually had the courage to do so. He's only DM'd me that one time, and that was pretty much it. I tried to message him, or call him, but I always find myself exiting the apps.
I think it's for the best, because I have to focus on my studies now. I have to really crunch down this semester if I wanted to get into the college I have been dying to go.
I had to sleep. I have to wake up the next morning, and get myself out of the house by 6:50 a.m. I told Anthony if he could drive me there, since he was going in that direction to work. Who would have thought that Anthony Reeves has a job as a barista.
I get into bed, put my phone to charge next to me and I get under the covers. I turn of my light, and I turn myself to the side, and got myself comfortable — I told myself I had to sleep, and repeated it over and over and over again until I finally relaxed and I fell into a deep slumber.

There's rain pouring outside my window, and I hear the sound of tapping against the glass. I found myself out of bed to investigate the tapping noise, and I come to find Chase outside my window. Quickly, I open it and he stumbles a bit to get inside before he looks at me completely drenched. He's wearing this unbutton shirt, and his hair is slicked slightly back, and he's never looked more incredible sexy.
"What are you doing here?" I have told him, but he doesn't say anything. He leans his body in, and wraps one arm and places his hand behind my back and the other on the side of my neck before pulling me into a kiss. There's a flash, and a sound of thunder crack outside the window —

The thunder woke me up. My eyes shoot open, as I stare out the window to see the rain patter against the glass. I let out a small breath, as I turn on my back; I rub my face, and groan a bit. It was just a dream...

I get into Anthony's truck with my bag in hand, a gray hoodie, and my keys and phone. Anthony looks like he's still trying to get the sleep out of him, and tells me, "good morning," with a yawn escaping shortly afterwards.
With his wet hair still damp, looks like the shower didn't really wake him up. I smile back at him, a bit tired and a bit nervous about orientation today.
"Thanks for giving me a ride," I tell him as I settle into the seat.
"Oh, no worries," he tells me as he pulls out of the driveway. "I got you."
I chuckle softly, letting out a small yawn which I cover with my hand, as I put on my seatbelt. The radio plays at low volume when we leave the neighborhood as I start to look at the paper I was given to read and look through.
Anthony doesn't say much; he's focused on the road, tapping his fingers against the steering wheel to the music. He's asked me, "what are you going to study?"
"English Lit."
I see Anthony's face contort a little; confused. "What?" he asks me, "why?"
"Because I want to," I say as I put my folder into my bag. "I love books, and reading." I give out a small chuckle as he shakes his head.
"Nah, I think that's just boring. Books are too difficult, and complicated. I don't have the time for them," he tells me.
"Well, you should. It helps escape this world," I look out the window, passing other cars on the road. Anthony doesn't say anything after that. We stay quiet for the rest of the entire ride, and after five minutes, we arrive in front of the college.
There's a lot of people here. There are in groups, talking and interacting with each other. There is no one here familiar, which was a good thing because I didn't want to surround myself with someone I didn't like in high school.
"Thanks, Tony. You're the best," I said, stepping onto the sidewalk.
"Call me if anything, Bo," he tells me as I nod.
"Ok, sure, but I'll call Benji to come and pick me up afterwards," I reassure him. "Have fun at work."
He groans, "don't remind me."
I laugh, under my breath as I wave him goodbye whe he starts to drive off. I nip my bottom lip, turning on my heels and looking up at the school. I can't believe I was actually here, and I was actually going to do this. I can feel it — I can feel the butterflies swarm in through my pit of my stomach as I walk up to the doors and enter inside.
There's a lot of noise — a lot of people talking, and huddle together. I hold the straps of my bag as I walk through the crowd so that I can get to the admins office. I still had to turn some things in before I could start the semester, and as soon as I get through, I bump into someone.
"I'm sorry—" I stop myself.
"Hi," he tells me.
"Hi, Jaden," I reply back.
It's awkward. And I feel awkward standing in front of him. He looks different than he did before — it must be his hair, or the way he's dressed. Or maybe the piercing on his lip. But, there is something different that I couldn't figure what it was.
His lips part, and he's about to say something to me but someone from behind him calls for him. They said, "JD," which gets him in instant reaction to while his head back to see who it is. It's a girl with long blonde hair, and she's awfully pretty. The girl walks up to us, but I didn't stay for long. I walked away as soon was the blonde girl came closer.
I didn't look back; I wasn't here to make friends. I had turned the corner of the hallway, and had looked up at the sign that read 'Administrators' Office'. I walked in, pulling out my folder from my bad and walking up to the old woman I had spoke a week and half prior.
She greets me with a yellow smile, and I hand over some of the paperwork. There's noises of laughter coming from outside the office, and I turned to see Jaden with a group of people I don't know and his arm wrapped around the blonde girls shoulder; their hands are intertwined with each other as they walk past the office.
And that's when his eyes met mine, and for a split second, I hear his voice from that phone call:
