What are Comfort Tales?

Hello.

It's about time I give this book a proper introduction and warning, even though I tend to give them on every page as well.

Comfort Tales are stories that I write for myself, to make myself feel better during times of upset. I try to keep a positive spin on them, but not all aspects of the stories are going to be nice. They definitely cover some darker topics, and some of them could easily be triggering to people. If you're not sure you can handle it, I have plenty of other soft, more lighthearted stories, and books, that I've written about the egos.

On most books I try to avoid Author's Notes because I find they break up the story. For this book, Author's Notes start and end every segment. I wanted to make sure these stories came with warnings, especially considering the subject matter of some of them. I also often explain the life circumstances, feelings or just generally the story behind the story. If you don't care about that, skip the author's note at the end.

Most of these stories are first person, but some may be third or even second person. It's really just whatever I'm feeling in the moment, and what's making me feel better.

I mostly post these stories because it makes me feel less alone, and because it's good to test my anxiety. I also secretly hope that they might help someone else feel less alone, even if just for a moment. I don't really expect anyone to read them, and was rather freaked out the first time someone had... but now I don't care if people read them, one way or the other.

That's about all I have to say. The warnings are serious. These stories are strange, and some are quite dark.

Thanks,

Embodied Insanity
