Castiel's POV

"Dean, it feels like we've been walking for hours," I whined, now "feeling the burn", as Dean put it.

"I know, Cas. Just a little farther."

"It doesn't help that I'm blindfolded. We could've been there by now if I wasn't," I said. I kept complaining about not being able to see in the hopes that he would take off the blindfold. It wasn't working very well.

"Oh my God, Cas, will you ever stop complaining about the goddamn blindfold?! It's not coming off until we get there. Now unless you have something else to say that ISN'T a complaint, I suggest you keep your mouth shut before I drag your feathered ass back to the car!"

I gulped and nodded, even though I know he couldn't see it. I could tell that he knew that I complied though because I stopped talking altogether.

Dean's POV

Oh my God, I'm freaking out. I've never been one for chick-flick moments, but it's Cas. I feel like he deserves this. I just love him so much and I want this to be special; something he'll always remember.

After a LONG internal battle, and a lot of long conversations with Sam, I finally felt I needed to do this. I came out to Sam when we were younger, and to Cas when we actually started getting close. I know he's gay, too, and I'm hoping and praying to whoever that he feels the same way I do. After everything we've been through, with the apocalypse and everything else, I think we deserve something as special as this.

So. here I am, dragging Cas's stupidly adorable self through the woods to the meadow. It's over two miles through the woods that I only stumbled upon accidentally. I had stormed out of the bunker after a fight with Sam and Cas and just rage-walked until I came across it. It's filled with wildflowers with a small pond in the middle.

Earlier today, after telling Cas (Sam already knew) I was running out to get some stuff, I left to go set it up. The blanket had been laid gingerly on the floor along with a picnic basket filled with food and drinks for us. Along with that, I had set up fairy lights across the tree branches that hung high overhead.

It was about an hour before sunset that I got back to the bunker, having actually gone to pick up beer and a couple other things that Sam had asked me to get. Cas greeted me, as usual, asking me why I was gone for so long.

"I had to go to like, 4 different stores to find all the crap that Sam wanted," I had said, quickly coming up with a lie that held Cas off.

I smiled fondly at what I had actually been doing, and how cute Cas had looked when he did the squinty head-tilt when I asked him to follow me.

We arrived at the clearing a few minutes later, Cas not hearing me stop and bumping into my back with a soft "oof".

I grabbed the arms of the hands that Cas laid on my waist to steady himself, and pulled him up slightly so he regained his balance.

"We're here," I said.

"Great. Can you take the blindfold off now? It's getting itchy," Cas asked.

I chuckled and reached over to slowly remove the blindfold.

Castiel's POV

I rubbed my eyes incessantly as soon as the blindfold came off, taking my time relieving myself of the itchiness that surrounded my eyes.

As soon as my eyes opened though, my hands that had fallen to my sides flew back up to my face, cupping it slightly as I gasped. It was around sunset, and the gentle oranges, yellows and pink swirled together in the reflective surface of the pond a few yards in front of me.

I looked closer at the meadow, noticing every detail around me. From the wild flowers that grew from the grass, to the fairy lights strung on tree branches above a blanket with a large picnic basket resting atop its surface.

I drank it all in before looking at Dean with an awestruck expression, my hands still resting gently on top of my cheeks.

He stood in front of me for a moment with a look of pure adoration painted on his face, before stepping forward and taking my hand from my face and into his own, leading me to the blanket.

We sat down cross-legged on the plush fabric, our knees brushing each others slightly.

Third Person

Dean looked deeply into Cas's blue irises, a slight smile playing at his lips.

'This is something I' going to remember forever, even if he doesn't feel the same way' thought Dean.

Cas, having turned away from Dean slightly to look at the scenery, turned back, staring into his green eyes, which shone with such admiration and love for Cas.

"Why'd you bring me here, Dean?" asked Cas, hoping that the answer would be what he wanted it to be.

"I- there's no easy way to say this Cas, so I'm just gonna say it," Dean said, pausing to take a deep, shaky breath, "I'm in love with you, Castiel. Your smile, your quirks, your laugh that I don't get to hear enough. It makes me feel something I've never felt before. It took me a long time to figure it out. A long, LONG time, but when I finally thought that it was you, it all made sense. I love you. It's ok if you don't feel the same, I get it, but I needed you to know-"

Cas, having been staring at him with wide eyes the entire speech, a smile creeping onto his face, which was hidden by his hands, had leaned close to Dean's face.

Dean, slightly startled by this, had stopped speaking. He could feel Cas's nose pressing lightly against his and his breath against his half-opened mouth.

Dean tilted his head, just barely, looking into Cas's eyes as if asking 'is this ok?'

Cas nodded gently, leaning forward until their mouths touched.

Neither one moved for several seconds, still feeling the shock of it all wash over them.

Surely though, they both began to move their lips against the other's, enjoying the warm feeling they felt in their chests.

Dean was the first to pull away, thought not really wanting to. He kept his eyes closed for a second, sending a quick prayer to whoever was listening that this wasn't a dream. After a moment, he opened his eyes, only to be met with the same azure irises from before, staring at him with a huge grin on his face.

Cas tackled Dean in a hug, smothering him with kisses all over his face, giggling like a maniac. He didn't really know what overtook him, but after a second of giggling and small pecks, he leaned in to give Dean another proper kiss, this one lasting longer than the first.

"I love you, too, Dean Winchester," Cas said after pulling away.

Dean pulled Cas into a bone-crushing bear hug and rocked him back and forth.

"I'm so glad you do," Dean mumbled into Cas's shoulder, still holding him close.

He was too afraid to let him go.
