●The To Do List●"Caught you staring darling, any ish?," Timmie winks at me.
I shake my head.
He takes Tokoni's seat beside me then pulls closer. He peers into my jotter and I see his dark brown eyes sparkle.
"Well, well, well," he smiles " don't think you're so sharp Pandora. I saw his name."
I'm Nigerian. So I literally went lie to this.
"Yeah. It's just that - ," he cuts me off.
"I know sweetheart,"he moves closer to my ears, " you're in love."
The words ' you're in-love' gives me goosebumps on my neck. But no, I wasn't in love. It was just a crazy dream about talking to David. And hell! I didn't even meet him in the dream.
"No it's not that way," I defend, " It's just.."
I take in a deep breath and tell him about the dream. First of all he gasps then he starts smiling.
"Please don't tell anyone. We both know you've got a big mouth," I plead
"Pinky swear. I won't tell on this one. Trust me?" I says
I know it's crazy talking Timmie about this but for some odd reason it just kinda feels right, and please that's his area.
"I trust you," I say.
"Now," he says " tell me. Do think you've got any feelings for y'know, David?,"
I feel my cheeks burn. I'm black so I my cheeks obviously don't turn red when I blush.
"I actually don't know. We hardly even talk," I tell him.
"You could talk to him now tho? I could call if you want." He requests
"No!," I answer nevoursly.
I mean I don't like him and stuff but, it's just quite weird after the whole dream thing.
"Okay then. Then let's handle your good memories before the day passes us by," Timmie changes the subject.
He goes back to his seat then returns with a large journal coloured pale blue, with flowers around it.
"What's this for??," I ask
"The Memories darling," I winks.
He opens the journal. On the first page he scribbles 'The To Do List".
Then he writes down some other stuff about being bold and all. I can see his eyes sparkling as he scribbles down some other things.
When he looks up at me, for some odd reason I feel happy.
"Girl?," he says, in a black American accent. A wide smile plastered over his lips.
"Y..y..yeah??," I stammer
"For this. Tell me you're indeed ready to drop your good girl act?," he asks
What does he mean teady to drop my good girl act. I mean I've been a straight A student, never gets into troubles and yeah quite timid.
"I..I.. I think I am," I lie.
He rolls eyes.
"I know you're lying. You're nose is twitching," he tells me.
Oh dang! This guy has it. Everytime I lie or I try to, my nose twitches as in a lot.
"Well. I mean, I don't know yet."
He just smiles. He moves closer and gives me a hug.
"You should think about it okay? When you're sure you're good I'll be, of course, at the back of class waiting," he winks.
"Thank you, so so much," I manage a smile.
"P.S, you'd better think before next week. And this week ends two days from today. So babe, you've got 48hours yo think," he says.
"Okay."
"Oh and remember, we've got inter house sport hit next week too!!!," he reminds me as he walks off.
I look down at the journal he gave to me. I pull it to my chest and whisper,
"I'm ready. I'm ready to do this,"I open it.
Dropping the Good Girl act is the first on the to do list. And there's a box beside it. Obviously that to tick done or not done.
I laugh at myself as I imagine being a crazy me. I slide the book underneath my desk and just prep.

"How was history class?," I ask Tokoni as we get to the dining hall.
All year12's go there after afternoon prep. Some to do some extra reading while the rest mainly for gisting and stuff.
Tokoni sighs "It was okay actually."
She kinda looks exhausted tho.
"So???," I whistle "aren't you forgetting something??
"Oh yes, " she apologises "it skipped my mind. Tell me about it again. "
We get into the hall and take a seat on the third row.
I scan the hall as I take my seat. I spot Jason and Samuel leaving the hall, there's Nanita, Timmie,Eunice and Iyalla gathered on a table at the far end if the hall. Some other boys are just playing around.
I tell Tokoni about the dream again. But I still take off the part Bout David. This time she seems to pay more attention. When I'm done she cleans her forehead.
"I think all you should do is just get some very good memories before we graduate," she tells me.
"Yeah. I think that's all," I tell her.
I dont feel satisfied tho. But I let it slide.
"Hope that's okay?,dont let it bother you" she tells
"Sure, thank you," I say
She just smiles.
Idara passes us, Jaypee is by beside carrying her bag.
"Hey Pan, hey Tokoni," she waves
"Hello." I and Tokoni chorus
Immediately they pass I turn to Tokoni
"Are they a thing now??" I ask
"Yeah. He asked her out two days ago," she notifies me.
Wow. Am I really in this school at all.
"I'd better get a shower," I tell Tokoni
"Me too. Let's go," she says.
When we start leaving the hall when I spot David and Trelyn sitting at the side of the hall close to the bag shelf.
He notices I'm staring and then he looks up at me. I feel goosebumps climb my shoulder. Immediately I turn my gaze away.
