I let out a bored sigh as I sat in a desk outside the classroom in the hallway.
I'd gotten put out of class by Mr. Jones for not 'paying attention.'
It was only the second week back, and these damn teachers stayed testing me.
Somehow I had all A's, so I must be paying attention to something.
Most of em just liked to pick on you and push your buttons to see how far you'd go. Then they'd be quick to write you up for being disrespectful if you argued back.
Normally, I would've gave Mr Jones' ass some words, but I knew my mama wouldn't be happy about that, and I wasn't tryna argue with her.
The hallways was completely quiet, except for a few wanderers here and there.
I heard some footsteps coming up the stairs near me. I turned my head to the left, only to lay eyes on Courtney.
My first instinct was to turn my head and act like I didn't see her, but instead I nodded my head at her.
"What you doing out here? In trouble?" she asked coming near me.
"As always," I said dryly.
"I heard you were at lunch with that girl again," she said calmly.
Ugh, here we go.
"You not gon' say nothing?"
"What is there to say?" I asked. "You right. I was with her."
"What's her name?"
"Huh?" I questioned confused.
"What's her name? Tell me about her since you can't leave her alone. I wanna know all about her."
"You tripping, yo," I laughed, shaking my head.
"Nah, you tripping," she said mushing my head.
"Aye, chill out, Courtney," I said seriously.
She already knew how my temper was. Now she was about to cause a scene in this hallway by putting her hands on me.
"You chill out! Why you always lying to me?"
"Bro, you need to get away from me, real talk," I tried to say as calmly as I could.
"I ain't going nowhere until you explain why you keep
lying to me?" she said sternly."Dude what is you tripping for? You not my girl, and you know that shit so stop acting like it."
She frowned up, and her face looked full of hurt. She was turning redder by the second.
"You know what terms we agreed to. This was only supposed to last for one night. One! But you got attached."
"But you said you wouldn't mess around with no one else as long as we was doing our thing. That's how spirits get mixed," she said angrily.
"Okay, and I stuck to that. I ain't f-"
I cut my sentence off, realizing I was talking a little bit too loud. I looked around before lowering my voice.
"I ain't fucking nobody but you, bro. But I'm kinda tired of this if we being honest. This shit ain't exciting no more."
Courtney was quiet for a second as if she was pondering something.
"So if I make it more exciting for you, you'll stick around?" she asked.
It never fails. Every time I tried to break this shit off...
"What's yo definition of exciting?"
"Come and I'll show you," she reached out and grabbed my hand and started leading me down the stairs.
She led me into a dark, empty janitor's closet and locked the door.
"We got five minutes til the bell rings for next period," she said while undoing my pants.
"I bet I can you the best top you ever had in those five minutes."
