When the driver slowly but surely pulled up to this black building with neon writing and graffiti down the sides, I could hear loud thumps of music surging through the building. It was loud. Adrenaline filled inside me like someone had thrown a gallon of hot coffee on me. It was a warm sensation.

I got out of the taxi, adjusted my outfit, and pulled on one of the two graffitied doors and went inside. Loud music and people everywhere greeted me. I look around for someone I might know, but I don't see anyone. I pull up to a bar seat and sit down.

"What'll it be?" a deeply voiced man asks me.

I look up to see this tall sun-kissed man wiping a glass he had just washed with a clean rag. He had a slight beard like he hasn't shaved for a couple of days, but it looked like it was perfectly managed.

"Miss?" he asks again

"Oh um, just a cosmopolitan."

Just as I go to pay him he says

"It's on me."
