Exams were over, but with so many celebrations, that meant Luna barely saw Stefan. She sat down at the lunch table, chewing on her sandwich, watching her friends talk.
"Okay, so my party will be this Sunday. Is everyone available?" Catalina asked, Layla nodding, Maya saying yes, Yasmin also nodding.
"Luna?"
"I-um. I maybe doing something with my family this weekend. I'll check up on them and then tell you." She lied. She hoped that the next few weekends she could finally see Stefan, spend the weekend at his house and use the party as a cover up. She'd just have to sneak in after school to ask him about everything.
"Oh ok. Cool." Cat looked at her suspiciously. She'd realised that Luna became distant after the Oliver thing. Was it that she no longer felt comfortable at parties after being attacked at one? But she blinked. It wasn't her business.
"But Luna, you'll be there once we all burn and trash our books and uniform...right?"
"Of course! That's a tradition." Luna said, then from the corner of her eye, she saw that Mr Salvatore entered the school restaurant. Please no one talk to him, Luna begged in her head.
He passed, nodding at his students and Luna, saying a small "Afternoon ladies," and getting his lunch. She glimpsed at him getting the most unnecessary lunch ever. Salad. When he lived on blood.
On his way back she looked down, trying not to make eye contact, but someone spoke.
"Uh,Mr Salvatore!" Yasmin squeaked as he stopped, smiling. He turned around, walking towards their table and nodding at each girl, then looked at Yasmin.
"Yasmin, how can I help you?" He asked softly. He was so beautiful that they couldn't help but be intimidated.
"S-sir...have you seen the physics papers?"
"Oh yeah. I have actually. It seemed quite hard that I struggled answering it." He smoothly lied. Luna had to hold in a scoff. This man saw physics go from a bunch of lies and predictions to actual discoveries. He probably got a full percentage on that paper in 20 minutes.
"How do you think we did, or I did?"
"Well obviously I haven't seen your paper but you probably did wonderful Yasmin. You all most likely did marvellous." He said, smiling, then waving a bye.
"Thank you sir!" Yasmin said, blushing a bit.
"That was a bit of an unnecessary question Yasmin. I wonder why you called him over here." Maya said, smiling.
"Ooh! Looks like someone has a crush on Mr Salvatore!" Layla said as he pushed through the doors. Luna's ears picked up that sentence and she burned.
Then she remembered, no one knows about her and Mr Salvatore.
But he was hers. It infuriated her so much that she realised she was melting a spoon in her hand. She'd forgot she had magic sometimes. She felt a sense of pride that she was the only one that knew what his hands felt like on her skin, and smugly smiled.
"Hey! It's not funny!" Yasmin pouted, then Cat smirked at Luna.
"Even Luna thinks it's funny! Oh Yasmin, it isn't that serious. Luna tell her."
"Yas, you'll get over it. After all, he's a teacher, you're a student, you know that nothing can happen." Luna told her, emphasising the last sentence. She knew that Stefan wouldn't go for another student, but she wanted Stefan for herself.
The bell rang as they all slid out of their seats, heading to their next class. Class was leisurely due to the closure of exams, and a long time of education. It was mostly talking, going over exams, talk of university, gap years, or just hanging with friends.
