I wake up to the constant beeping oh a heart monitor.
Oh ya, I'm in the hospital. 'Cus I was shot. In the arm.
I can't open my eyes yet, this must be some heavy anesthetic. So I just listen.
"I knew one day this would happen, she's home alone too often" I can hear my dad speaking.
"It's not that Byron, it was a freak accident" my mom responds
"Lets not argue right now okay El?" Pleads my dad "she'll be waking up soon. Dr Matthews said she needs to be in a calming environment."
Right on time, I can crack open my eyes, and take in my hospital room.
While tiles, while walls, white sheets, white hospital gown. White everything. I see that one wall has a window, and it looks out over the city, wow, I didn't realize how tall some hospitals are... But damn that view is beautiful.
"How bad do I look?" Is the first thing out of my mouth.
"You're not looking oscars ready" my mother jokes "how ya feelin baby" she asks, moving closer to my bed.
"Like I got shot." I laugh.
"Maybe cus you did" she says
"Can I have my phone? Has Sammy texted me?" I try to sit up, but I can't cus there's so many wires attached to my arms.
"Shhhhh honey, just lie down" my mom says pushing me back, ignoring my questions
She looks like she hasn't had sleep in days "are you alright mom" I ask
"Well, I was just getting off my shift as they called me in to help with an emergency, a shooting victim.
"Hey" I smile " that's me"
"Don't smile dear! My heart nearly fell out of my chest when I saw it was you!"
"Mom it was only my arm, and see! I'm alright now" she just squints her eyes at me and sits down.
My dad comes over next and kisses my forehead "it's all my fault, I should be home more often, you're home alone too much, and a feeble security system can't suffice for me watching out for you" he states.
"So when do I got outta here?" I ask my parents.
"2 days. They just want to make sure your arm doesn't get infected, and monitor you psychologically a bit. You were shot and attacked in your own home might I add. They want to make sure you're coping alright" my dad answers
"That's probably a good idea" I say
"Well, well leave you to rest up" my latent a say before leaving the room
"WAIT!" I shout before they leave, but it's too late.
I just wanted to know where my phone is...
I realize soon that I didn't actually check my bedside table for my phone or anything.
I look to my left and it's right there, next to a large bouquet of daisies. My favourite.
I text Sammy to see if he wants to come chill in my room with me for a while but he doesn't answer me.
Back to the daisies, I really wish I had my favourite book here with me. Looking For Alaska. I have read and re read that book a million times, I found it a year after it originally came it, way before anyone knew John Green. But that tattered copy of Looking For Alaska has gotten me though so much crap in life.
I'd ask Someone to go grab it for me in my room back home, but I don't want anyone going through my belongings, so I'll just get the next best thing, the digital copy on iBooks.
I read the first 3 haters before I start to doze off, which is fine with me, the more rest I get, the sooner I can go home.

"Wake up your damn girlfriend we've already been here for 5 minutes!" I can hear someone shout as I'm opening my eyes.
There standing around me is almost 12/12 and Jessi.
Some throw glitter at me and some throw steamers. All while everyone is blowing those party sound makers you had at your 7th birthday party when you thought you were top shit.
"What kinda party is this?" I giggle shaking glitter off me.
"It's a 'hey you got shot but you didn't die so let's celebrate' kind of party" shouts Jessi, coming up and blowout more glitter in my face.
"Those are my favourite kind!" I exclaim, still trying to get all the glitter off me, proving to be a waste of my time, so I give up.
"Too bad we don't have cake" says aaron.
"Well that can easily be fixed!" I say hinting that someone should go buy one.
Matt gets it, and says "I'll be back in a few, hopefully with cake"
"I'll come, you probably don't know where the store is" Jessi says.
I shout "DONT DO ANYTHING I WOULDN'T DO" at them, as they leave
"Better grab some mints while were there then" Matt laughs, closing the door behind him.
Seeing as not many of the guys know me, they kinda give me the side eye, at the fact that Matt and Jess would need mints, but quickly clue in to what Matt was hinting.
--
"Oh my god that cake was delicious! How did you know I like vanilla?" I ask aloud
"Well when I picked up the chocolate Jessi just stared at me till I put it down and grabbed a vanilla instead" Matt explained
"A+ friendship girl!" I wink at Jessi
"Alright your little party is over, it's way past visiting hours and there way too many kids in such a small room, everyone out" my nurse says walking in the room.
Everyone groans, but complies. They each take their turn hugging me. With Jess kissing my cheek and Sam kissing my lips, a little too long for the nurse's liking, as she pulled him off of my and shooed everyone out.
I fell asleep with a smile on my face, right after my nurse was checking my vitals for the night.
