Cailey POV
The next morning Cole and Mikayla arrive at our house at about 10:30. "Cole!" I exclaim. I run up to the both of them and hug them both as they get out of the car. "I missed you so much" Cole pulls me into a hug and squeezes me tight."Is your boyfriend inside?" He asks as I pull away to hug Mikayla.
"You can't even say that you missed me first?" I smile.
"Oh, you know I missed you" He laughs and shakes his head at me.
We go inside and everybody has a turn to hug both of them. Cole introduces himself to Jacob and Caden and I can tell that the three of them instantly click. While the boys are talking, Mikayla and I go into the kitchen to sit down.
"So..how have things been going here?"
"Well," I say. "I'm assuming Cole told you about-"
"He did" She says. "Cole told me about it the whole plane ride here"
"Oh, great," I mutter. "I wanted to tell him, but I didn't want him make a big deal about it"
"He's just being protective. You guys are basically siblings, Cailey" She smiles. We look over and see the guys are in a full conversation. "He's one of the new guys this year, right? So Cole doesn't know him?"
I nod my head and sigh, "Yep. Cole will most likely met him today though"
"Well, why don't you go ahead and tell me about him?"
I tell her everything about Kirby and by the end of it I had a stupid grin on my face.
"You should invite him to hang out with the three of us tonight. It could be..kind of a double date"
"I don't know" I say. "I mean..we aren't technically together so.." I trail off and look over at the boys again.
"Just invite him..it'll be a good time" She says. "You know I wouldn't be saying this if it wasn't a good idea"
"I can't do that"
"Why?"
"What if he says no?" I swallow.
"Just ask him, what's the worst that could happen?"
I reluctantly take out my phone and go to my messages with Kirby. I send the text and shove my phone into my jacket pocket.
There's no way he'd say yes, right?
Within a few minutes he responds and he says yes.
Well, thankfully he didn't say no.

When we get to the arena for practice, Mikayla and I head inside and saw Ashton in the lobby talking to one of his friends from school. I honestly wish our fight never happened and I felt terrible. We have to walk past Ashton to our seats and I could feel him staring at us the entire time. We sat on the front row with my three sisters and my parents sat behind us.
The boys come out and Kirby skates past us, giving me a smile as he skates over to his teammates. I feel my face turn red and cup my face in my hands. "Cailey's got a boyfriend, Cailey's got a boyfriend" I hear Bella tease from two seats over.
"Shut up" I say. "He's not my boyfriend, okay?"
"Sure he isn't"
Practice seems to be over in seconds and afterwards we wait out in the lobby for the boys. There isn't much to do in Saskatoon so we decide to go rollerskating. I see the boys come out and - somehow - Kirby and I end up having our first, real, hug.
"You did so good tonight" I say. His cheeks become flushed and he smiles at me.
"Thanks Cai"
I loved it when he said my name.
Our moment is broken and I hear a loud coughing behind me. I glance over my shoulder to see Cole. I roll my eyes and shoot him a glare.
"So did you guys decide what we're going to do?" He asks.
"Rollerskating. Is that okay with you guys?" Mikayla asks. The boys nod their heads and then we're on our way. Saksatoon isn't a large town and everything is close, so we end up walking to the rink. We arrive inside, get our skates, and I suddenly realize how bad I am at rollerskating. Just as I'm about to fall, I feel Kirby grip on my back, saving me from falling.
"You okay there?"
"Yeah, just forgot how bad I am at skating" I mumble and already feel embarrassed. "Thank you for catching me"
"No problem" He smiles.
I could just feel this getting better and better.
Cole and Mikayla end up doing their own thing and so did Kirby and I. I couldn't deny, I was having such an amzing time hanging out with Kirby. So amazing that I just forgot about my huge fight with Ashton.
The night passes by fast and Mikayala and Cole end up leaving early while Kirby and I stayed for a few extra minutes.
"You know," Kirby says as we walk out of the skating rink. "I had a really good time tonight" Our fingers end up interlocking and I can't help but to smile like an idiot.
"What's wrong?" He asks. "Did I say something dumb?"
"No, of course not. I just..I like you..a lot" I blurt out as I look down at my shoes. "I know, it's weird to say even though we just met but I like you so much. Way more than friends"
I can't believe I just said all of that
"Wait - really?" He blushes. "I like you a lot too"
"Seriously?"
"If I wasn't serious, would we be holding hands right now?" He smirks.
"I guess not" I grin. He smiles back at me and I swear we were going to kiss, but we didn't.
We walk back to my house and I couldn't wait to see him again already. He gives me another hug before we say goodbye and I feel like the happiest girl in the world.
"Text me when you get in?" He asks.
"You better"
