“Zombies Nightmare”

Video Short Screenplay

April 13, 2006 – February 3, 2009

Premise: A zombie has a bad day…or did he?

1) Mr. Rip Zombie, your typical everyday hardworking zombie. Rip is reading the Zombie News. He looks at his watch and shouts an explicative about being late for work. Mrs. Zombie gives Rip a suggestive look and lip smacking kiss. He pulls his lip off Mrs. Zombie and reattaches it to his face.

2) Rip arrives at work, clocks in, and his boss, Rob Zombie starts chewing him out for being late and having a bad month of recruiting (getting people to rise from the dead). Rob tells Rip he needs to pick up the pace or he’ll have to give the pink slip. Rip starts begging for mercy telling Rob how burned out he is and talks about the wife and kids.

3) Zombie, Inc. starts their weekly staff meeting. In the background is a monthly production chart. Rob starts a training video “Zombie Stalking For Dummies”. Un-characteristically, Rip is the only one who doesn’t fall a sleep. You see Rip try to close his eyes, but one opens slowly and looks around. Then the other eye does the same thing. Restless Rip leaves to do his job.

4) Rip goes about setting up a zombie hideout and putting on scary makeup. Then he starts attacking people but keeps on being thwarted one way or another or laughed at. To add insult to injury, a dog uses Rip as a hydrant and then carries off one of Rips foot-bones. Rip finally can handle it no more. He decides to bring himself to life (the equivalent of a human deciding to end it all).

5) Then with a jerk, Rip wakes up panting, and starts to tell Mrs. Zombie his nightmare. Mrs. Zombie laughs, and says, “Tell you what, the kiddos are out raising the dead with friends tonight. How about we watch “Married With Zombies” and go get all ghoulish”. Rip smiles and starts chasing Mrs. Zombie while saying in his best zombie moan, “Brains, Brains”.

The End :-)
