You sat at your desk scribbling down notes and going back and forth between your computer and typing out reports. you were about to take a sip of your cooling coffee when there was a knock at your door. "Come in" you called and set your cup back down and turned in your swivel chair to look at your office door and met the eyes of your employee. "We got another monster thing in. Boss wants you to examine it" he explained and you nodded and stood up. "They're specimens not monster things. But I'll go examine them." you laughed and he rolled his eyes, "whatever, get your ass to theater 3B. You'll be examining him there in private. Only the boss and us know about him" he laughed and you waved your office mate off. You leave with him, coffee in hand, recorder in your pocket and walk the five minute walk down to the theater and after a quick exchange you were left alone in front of the giant metal doors and with a sharp breath, you walk in.

Flicking the light on you were almost taken aback at how human the creature was in front of you. You would have almost thought of him as human at first glance till you stared harder and realized his skin had a light grey to it, his eyes were nothing but black holes that dripped some type of black substance, and they were staring wide eyed right at you. you felt a shiver go up your spine as a feeling of uneasiness settled in your stomach. Trying to shake off your unsettled feelings you approached the stranger and sat down in front of them and started your recorder and asked the same question you ask every creature that comes in.

"Do you speak?" you asked, already expecting growling, snapping, or hissing and silence in response,

"yea, who are you?" he questioned back making you gag on your coffee.

"that's.. that's a first okay. So that should make this easier." you mumbled writing something down onto your clip board.

"You didn't answer my  question" the male in front of you snapped. "who are you?"

you could hear the malice and hatred in his voice as he hissed out his words making the unsettling feeling you felt before come back. "I-I'm f/n L/n, I work here as a scientist and I study strange creatures and oddities like you" you tried to catch yourself from stammering but struggled. something about this man, this thing imitated you, made you feel uncomfortable and that was a first for you. you've been around creatures only children can see in the middle of night hiding in their closets and under the bed. The creature, or man at this point. Scoffed at my reply, but yet seemed satisfied with your answer.

"Well, you know who I am. who are you?" you asked impulsively making the male stiffen, as if he wasn't expecting that question. He looked at you, and stared at you for a long bit before finally sighing out of frustration. he had no other choice then to answer your questions. " I'm Jack, don't ask for any last name because I don't even remember it. matter of fact I don't know if I really have an actual name. Jack was the name that was given to me." he explained and you started scribbling on your clip board.

~Jack's POV~

"Who.. Gave you the name?" the woman in front of me asked, and I shrugged, at least the best I could while tied down to the cold table I was on. "I don't know. I jut woke up one day with a note written on the wall that said "welcome home Jack, and ever since then I've been here. I don't have any memories previously from waking up. I don't know my real name if I ever had one, I don't know who my parents are, who any friends I might have had are. I don't know anything beyond what I learned and what I crave"

The woman, or Y/n opened their mouth but I quickly cut them off. "I know what you're going to ask. All that I've learned, all that I crave. Is people. I was put here on this plant to eat and consume you humans and that's my sole purpose of living To rid this place of pieces of shit like yourself" I couldn't help but smirk. despite my situation I couldn't help but feel as if I had the upper hand and as if I was in control of the situation. I could see and feel the fear radiating off of her. The fear in her eyes made me feel so hungry, but something was telling me that I shouldn't consume her. I don't know what it was that was telling me it. but something was just there telling me it. Maybe she'll be useful?

"That's not very nice." she mumbled, I could hear the hurt in her voice. "Life isn't very nice sweet heart. Get used to it." I snapped and she sighed and shook her head. "Just like the rest" she mumbled and begin writing down a few things in her clip board. "the rest of what?" I hissed and she looked at me with a sharp look in her eyes. "the rest of the disgusting monsters here"

Monster

I've heard that name being given to me several times. I've heard so many people call me that. Even though it's true, it still hurts. I balled my fists up and took in a deep breath as my chest tightened. "So what if I am one? " I asked and stared at her and she stared back in silence. "So what if I am one Ms. scientist? It doesn't make us any different, what you do to people like us makes you just as monstrous" I growled and she scoffed and shook her head. "Only in your wildest dreams would I ever be like you. Unlike you I'm human and I have morals." she exclaimed and I shook my head.

"Do you really have morals if you're o willing to experiment on people similar to you? just look at me. I look just like you. I'm the same. WE are the same. And you can't change that" I hissed and she stared at me with an almost emotionless face but her eyes said everything. I watched as she shook her head, before standing and leaving me, her place being taken by men in hazmat suits who began to wheel me out. I couldn't help but stare up at the ceiling counting the light fixtures as they went by, praying to whatever fucking god that exists that somehow, I'll get out of here with or without help.
