A Surprise and A Betrayal (✓)

2. Sweetness Overloaded

The cold wind prickling over Alec's bareback had him stir in his sleep. Slowly, he blinked open his eyes and looked around. The pounding of the rain on their window was stopped and was now replaced by a cold breeze that was cascading into the hall. Crickets were chirping in distance and the city was blanketed in darkness and silence.

He rubbed his eyes and realized that he was on top of his husband, the clothes were scattered all around them and his stomach was making complaining noises. Sighing, he pecked his husband's forehead who was sleeping adorably, stood up then grabbed his clothes and wore them.

When he was done, he first went to close the windows, then lit the fire on the fireplace and went towards the kitchen to prepare something as his stomach didn't seem to stop grumbling.

A yawn escaped from his mouth as he scanned the contents inside their fridge. There were a bunch of frozen sandwich packets, half-cut bacon, some eggs, some fruits, half packet of brown bread, half-cut chicken breast, and a packet of brown rice. Since he was in no mood to cook, he took two packets of frozen sandwiches and put them in the microwave, then grabbed an apple and bit into it as he waited for the sandwiches to get ready.

A smile crept o his face when he noticed how adorable Magnus was looking even though he was naked and slightly sore. The buzzing of the microwave caught his attention, slicing through the silence of the house making the naked warlock stir.

A groan escaped from Magnus's throat when a buzzing sound disturbed his sleep. Slowly, he blinked open his eyes, and his hand sprawled to search for his husband when he missed the warmth of Alec's skin around his body.

"Alexander...? What are you doing?" He asked while rubbing his half sleepy eyes.

Alec bit his lip. "Sorry, didn't mean to wake you up. I was hungry so...." he pointed towards the sandwiches on the plate, then walked towards the couch and sat on it. "Aaaand you're still naked," he said and licked his lips as he scanned Magnus from top to bottom.

Magnus burst into laughter. "Oh, my innocent shadowhunter." 

"Shut up!" Alec said and rolled his eyes.

After composing himself, Magnus snapped his finger and was dressed in the blink of an eye. Then he stood up and sat beside Alec and wrapped his arms around his waist.

"Aren't you hungry, Magnus?" Alec asked, having a hint of concern in his voice.

"Are you talking about the food or you?" Magnus asked, batting his eyelashes innocently earning a deadly glare from his husband. 

Biting his lip, Magnus slow blinked and his glamour dropped. The slight hint of lust in Alec's hazel eyes didn't go unnoticed, but it was gone as soon as it was there and was replaced by concern once again.

"Magnus, it's midnight, and we had lunch at 1 in the afternoon, we didn't even have dinner, eat something, love."

Tears formed in the back of Magnus's eyes when he heard his husband's concern-filled voice for him. He buried his face in Alec's bicep and left a light peck over it.

"Okay, darling, but on one condition, eat with me." with a wave of his wrist, the sandwich Alec was biting into disappeared and the expression he made was completely priceless making him laugh uncontrollably. 

Alec sighed and shook his head. "Okay, love!" He said, then leaned in to peck on top of his head.

Magnus waved his hands and summoned a dinner consisting of chicken soup with spaghetti and meatballs, and two glasses of white wine.

"WOW! Okay, let's dig in."

They ate their dinner in silence, listening to the rustles of leaves and knocks of tree branches against their window. When they were done, Magnus waved his fingers and cleaned everything up.

"Okay Alexander, let's get to bed now. I don't want either to sleep on the couch or on the floor, again!" Magnus stated matter-of-factly earning a cute giggle from his husband.

"Okay, Mr. Lightwood Bane!" Alec said playfully.

"Alexander!"

"Okay, okay, jeez Mags, calm down! Let's get some sleep." He said and kissed the tip of Magnus's nose.

Magnus blinked twice at this. "You're impossible, Alexander!"

*The next day*

Alec squeezed his eyes and put his palms over his face when bright sunlight shone over his face, as Magnus pulled the curtains who only had a bright lavender silky bathrobe over his skin-tight black boxers. 

"Rise and shine, sleepyhead!"

"Ahh! Magnus!" Alec groaned.

"Wake up, pup!"

"Pup!?"

"Panda?"

"No!"

"Are you ever going to choose one!?"

"NO!"

"Okay..." Magnus sighed. "By the way, get up and take a shower while I make breakfast, we have to get back to our busy schedules today," he added as he started to leave for the kitchen.

"Okay, Mags!" Alec sighed then glanced at the alarm clock to check the time but something else caught his attention. It was the calendar! He saw the date and day, it was Wednesday, and next Wednesday would be their wedding anniversary, they would complete 6 years of togetherness. His eyes shined brightly at this.

'I don't know if you remember our anniversary or not Mags, I hope you do, but I'm going to make sure that you'll be the happiest person in the whole universe on the day of our anniversary. I'm aware that you're worried, even though you think you're hiding it from me well. I know what it is, and I'm going to make sure to vanish it forever. Not only that, but I promise you, Magnus Lightwood Bane, I'll make our anniversary special, in ways you can't imagine. I'm going to make you the happiest man that day, and I'll do everything in my power to make it happen. I love you, Magnus, you mean the world to me, no, you are my world, I don't think I can ever live without you!'  He thought and a grin appeared on his face. With a plan forming in his mind, he stood up and left for the bathroom.
