Yooha curls herself into a ball as she sobs into her knees, her face covered and her silky, dark, hair messy and tangled from the number of times it had been pulled.

Another beating.

She continues to cry, her room shut closed while she hears the breaking of glass downstairs. She covers her ears with her hands, squeezing her eyes shut, and continuing to cry.

"I'm only 18..." Yooha chokes, followed by another sob as she hears her mother yell. She can't take it, with every loud noise she hears, she trembles and flinches. It's too much for her to handle, so she applies more pressure to her ears, hoping it would all go away.

But it doesn't work.

Yooha hears footsteps, ones she doesn't pay attention to at first. She thinks she's hearing things, however, it soon gets louder and heavier. Then, she realizes the footsteps are coming toward her room,

toward her.

Yooha stands up quickly, her heart beat racing and her eyes growing wide in horror. She shakily stares at the door as she snaps her head toward her window.

"Don't hurt her!" A voice yells from downstairs.

Yooha takes a few steps back from her door, listening to how much closer her dad was near her room.

Mom...

She forcefully opens the window to her room, feeling  the rush of wind hit her milk skin. It's chilly outside, but it's the weather she always loved. Yooha feels lost, conflicted, looking down at the road as couples strolled on the streets of Seoul.

The footsteps are halfway now, and her mother was desperately trying to buy time for Yooha to escape. Yooha lets out a soft gasp as the doorknob to her room rattled.

She looks down and shakes her head. It was too high, she'd certainly break a leg or an arm if she jumped. The rattles grow louder and Yooha stresses over the choices she's laid down.

What should I do?

Within a short amount of time, the door to Yooha's room had been broken and crashed down, tiny pieces of wood and the door knob falling onto her concrete floor.

He looks around for a few minutes until he sees the open window and the curtains flapping due to the heavy wind. He slams his fist against the wall, cursing under his breath, then out loud as he asks where Yooha is.

He throws her blankets and sheets roughly off her bed while he lets out a furious scream. When nothing he sees interests him, he walks off to his next victim. He starts looking around Yooha's room at first, until he sees objects neatly placed on her dresser.

He didn't care what was on there, what brand of perfume were laid out, he didn't even need to think twice. With a single arm, he managed to push all of Yooha's belongings onto the floor as it falls with a crash. Her floor was now filled with different colored spilled perfume, glass, and the wooden pieces of her door.

It's quiet for a few seconds, until his stomps disappear along with his voice, and Yooha finally gets a chance to breathe. She quietly inhales, trying to get her heart at a normal rate while repeatedly telling herself she's okay. She can't seem to stop herself from shaking though, and her mind won't settle down about how close she was to being caught.

She was hiding in her bathroom, lights off and the door shut. Her father was too busy thinking she jumped out her window, he didn't think about her possibly hiding in the small connected bathroom to her room.

She softly cries until the voices die down, the breaking settles down, and all she hears is her father snoring. When everything seems to finally be over, she closes her eyelids slowly. It takes a while for her to fall asleep, but eventually, she's drifted off into dreamland. The most horrible way possible.
