Kayla's POV

I woke up to both of my brothers screaming.

"Taylor! Tristan! Shut up I'm trying to sleep here!" I yell.

They come running into my room. Tristan starts to bounce on my bed while Taylor keeps screaming.

"Oh I'm sorry did we wake the princess?" Taylor says with his lip out. I shove my pillow in his face.

"GET OUT BEFORE I PUNCH YOU!"

Our mom comes in and yells, "Taylor, Tristan leave Kayla alone!"

"But mom we were just having fun" Taylor whines.

"Kayla needs her privacy! She's the only girl so stop bugging her!"

Once they leave I hug my mom.

"Thanks for that."

"No problem. I'm sorry they annoy you so much." She says and we both laugh.

My mom went down stairs to make breakfast and I start to get dressed.

I put on a teal and black peplum shirt and black skinny jeans. I straighten my hair and braid my bangs to the side. Then I put on a little mascara and teal eyeshadow before I head down stairs.

(Okay so let me tell you about myself, I'm 13 years old almost 14 and I live in Indiana with my mom, dad, and two annoying brothers. Taylor is 17 and Tristan is 5. My favorite color is pink, I do not have a boyfriend, and I'm a competitive dancer.)

My mom had made eggs and toast. I was so hungry and immediately started to eat. Taylor sat down next to me wearing khakis and a tie dye muscle shirt. Today was the last week of school and I CAN NOT wait until it's summer!

After breakfast Taylor and I pack for school and say goodbye. I grab my ankle boots and get into Taylor's black mustang. When we get to school I run up to my only two friends. (Yes I don't have that many friends)

"OMG Kayla you look great!" Nikki exclaims.

"Thanks" I hug her and my other friend, Miya.

We walk into first period and sit down next to each other. We all have a few classes together, which I'm thankful for. A boy whose name is James sits down next me. I don't know why, he usually sits with the popular group.

"I like your outfit Kayla." He whispers.

"Uhh thanks?" I say, obviously confused at his surprise compliment.

Miya pokes me and asks, "Why is he talking to you?"

"I don't know! He just said he liked my outfit." Miya made her mouth form an O as she realized why he was talking to me.

The most popular girl in school walked in, Ashlee.

"James! What are you doing sitting over there by that freak! Come over here!!!" She sang the last part. What a weirdo...

"Oh I'm going to bust that bit-" Nikki gets up but we pull her down.

"Don't make a scene." I say.

Nikki is definitely the most aggressive of our group and always protects us.

Soon after 3 more periods it was lunchtime.

Nikki and Miya were at our usual table, once I saw them, I waved. As I was making my way over Ashlee came up to me.

"Oh hi Kila what are-" she started, but I cut her off.

"My name is Kayla"

"Okay then 'Kayla'" She emphasizes my name. "What were you thinking! Why were you talking to MY boyfriend?"

"I wasn't! He came up to me!" I said.

"Well back off because no one likes you." She says and walks off.

I hurry to my normal table and sit down with a thud.

"What did 'she' have to say?" Nikki asked.

"Nothing just forget about it." I say starting to eat.

Yup, I CAN NOT wait till it's summer.
