When he had first seen that cat, Ink was skeptical. It couldn't have been Error, could it have been? He was dead? Outer had said that he witnessed the destroyer roll his own broken body off of the edge of a cliff and into the void, a truly terrible way to go for sure, but one that was well deserved! But, there it was! And it looked, like, like how he would look like as a cat!
So now he sat at a desk, papers with writing on it of everything he knew about that cat. It was probable that the cat was a reincarnation of his enemy. But as Dream had said, "are you sure you're getting enough sleep?" So. The squid had taken a nap that was about as long as...mmmm a day. And woken back up to work. And! He was no less unsurprised when he witnessed the cat destroying again.
So. The chances of it being Error were high. He had already told Swap Papyrus that there were suspicions. Knowing that if he the Papyrus came across the cat, there would be no mercy. Even if he was proven wrong. He would show no mercy to anything that looked like the glitch. All the Stretch's actually.
Ink had drawn a few sketches of the feline, none had been able to capture what the animal looked like, but they were close. He also had hung up a few pages with theories written on them. He might have been enjoying this new problem a little too much. After all, he hadn't had a decent theory to think about in quite a while.
"Uhm. Ink?"
ink's head shot up. "Oh! Dream! Heya! What can I help you with?" Ink asked. "Well. Stretch reported back." Ink shot up into a standing position. "And?!" He prodded. Dream scratched his skull. "Said the cat is in fact Error! He also said that he was close to killing it! Error has gotten a lot more fragile. Unfortunately, Blue was there to stop him. I don't think Blue realized who he was." Dream explained. "Do we know how he became a cat?" Ink asked suddenly.
Dream thought for a moment, propping a hand under his jaw-bone. "Well. No. I just learned about this back when you called a meeting about it. You didn't specify anything other than we should keep an eye out. So, no one was thinking about the fact that Error could still be alive."
Ink nodded. "Ok. Thanks."
Dream stood there for a moment before opening his mouth again to speak. "You. uh. Should probably go outside or. Like. Get out of the room? You've been in here all day." Dream suggested, pointing outside of the doorframe. Ink sighed, running a hand across his skull. "Yeah. guess I have been cooped up in here, huh?" He laughed. He stood up and walked over to Dream. "So. What do you have in mind?"
Dream smiled. "I was thinking of a picnic in OuterTale! What do you think?" Dream asked. Ink nodded. "Yeah! Why not?"

Ink and Dream sat on a relatively well-populated large floating island. There wasn't too much to talk about, so Ink was pulling up little tufts of the glowing grass and laying it into a small pile. Dream looked over at the ever-growing mass, then looked over to what he was doing. His pile was growing ever so slightly as well, the food they had packed. Sandwiches were on the bottom, then little pies, then a few blueberries sat comfortably on top. Dream sighed. He looked back over at the creator, who had started to cheerfully hum 'his theme'. A light smile drifted onto the happiness keepers face. His plan was working.
After Ink had found about about 'Cat Error' as they had dubbed him, he had surrounded himself in his work. Trying to disprove, and prove this theory at the same time. Proving it was the hardest to do because his mind would always drift to, 'how?'. Or, 'Why?'. Two questions, of which, he could not answer. Sometimes the creator would get so enveloped in his work that he wouldn't eat or sleep for a few days. It was one of those times, so Dream was glad that he could drag his friend out of the colorful room.
"Dream?"
Dream looked at Ink.
"Yes, Ink?"
Ink looked up at the sky. "I...don't think I've ever asked you..." He mumbled.
Dream cocked his skull to the side. "Hm?"
"What's your favorite color?"
Dream blinked a few times before a wide grin spread across his face. "Holy crap! You haven't!" He laughed. "Despite what most people may think, my favorite color is purple." He explained.
"Oh? Why?" The creator asked.
Dream closed his eyes, still smiling, he said, "I have my reasons!~". He stuck his tongue out at the other. "You. Won't. Find. Out~!" He said goofily. Ink knocked over his pile of grass. "Aw! Come on Dream!" He pleaded, laughing slightly. Dream sighed. "Ohhh fine!"
Dream looked up at the stars. "It's cause it reminds me of my brother. I mean, sure, it's going to be difficult to try and bring him back. But I know we can do it!" He cheered.
Ink looked over at the smiling skeleton. He smiled slightly. "Yeah. We can save him!" He agreed. Dream looked over at his friend. "Thanks. And we will!" He agreed. Ink looked over at the pile of food that sat next to Dream. "Shall we eat, my dear friend?" He asked, in a fake fancy tone. Dream carefully lifted the pile before placing it down in front of both of them.
"We shall, my good skeleton!" He responded.
And so, the two feasted on the food they had brought for the lovely picnic! And had a wonderful time!

I swear I have a good excuse! So, here it is!
School started. I needed. to. get. everything. figured out! But thank you for reading my adoring, and loyal fans! *Hair flip* Plus, I wanted to do something kinda different. So, here we have a little bit of fluff. I think it turned out cute -w- I KNOW it turned out cute. And, HEY! Who knows? Maybe I'll ship Ink x Dream for this story. Let m know if you think that sounds good! Also...Help?
I'm kinda losing ideas on what to do! Another contributing factor for why it took so long for this chapter to come out-
So! Let me know what you want to see! Error dying, turning back into a skele, anything! ANYTHING! Except smut. No smut. But let me know what you want to see!
It could even be a lone scene! Like, 'Cross and Dust capture Error and force him to let them pet him!' Anything! I really. mean. ANYTHING> (EXCEPT SMUT)
