ACT ONE / the land of the dead

oof, alright, you're gonna be badass lmao and after this it's going to be some good good backstory while everyone else is trying to keep you alive in the human world wOo

Without preamble, Guila struck. She leveled her rapier, and an explosion blasted out where you were standing. Using your magic, you flew into the air and slashed an 'X' in front of you.

"Sky God's Crucifixion!"

Guila dodged out of the way of your spell. The crystal she was standing on caved in on itself in the pattern of your magic.

"A traitor to the kingdom, but a fearsome opponent nonetheless." Guila waved away the smoke and assumed her fighting stance. "Your magic, Haste, gives you the infinite ability to control the winds and your own speed."

You flicked your rapier. An arc of wind raced toward Guila. Her eyebrows disappeared behind her bangs as she was forced to jump back, the wind shattering the ground.

"And yours is Explosion," you said, holding your hand out. Individual blasts of wind shot toward her, and although she managed to dance away from each one, she was beginning to grow visibly frustrated. "However, you need time to charge up your magic. What will you do if you do not have that opportunity?"

"They're kinda scary," Diane murmured to Meliodas.

You launched another arc of wind and looked over your shoulder. "You are welcome to pitch in and help. I just do not want you to get hurt."

Meliodas grinned at you. Moments later, his eyes widened and an exclamation formed on his lips. You turned and cast Sky's Protection moments before Guila's rapier pierced you through the neck. She kept her blade against the shield and set off an explosion, sending you flying back. Diane caught you in her hands, and Meliodas took over for you.

He and Guila exchanged a series of furious blows. Even you were impressed by their speed. The entire time, he didn't draw his blade, and yet he managed to bring Guila down to her knees using one hand.

"Meliodas, legendary captain of the Seven Deadly Sins," Guila recited. "Your might does indeed seem to be the real thing! It's odd, though. Why don't you use your sword?"

She skipped back a few yards, landing in a crouch. Meliodas kept his eyes on her.

Diane let go of you, and you floated next to her. Guila flew toward Meliodas with her rapier aimed at his chest. Meliodas drew his sword, which had a broken blade, and used Full Counter to send the explosion back at Guila.

The dust cloud formed by Full Counter wafted away, and Guila stood in front of you, marred by burns but otherwise unhurt.

"So that is your magic, Full Counter. It reflects any offensive magic directed at you back at the caster at more than double strength." Guila's head was tilted, and you could almost imagine you were back at Liones, training with her. "Fascinating. In short, the more powerful your opponent, the more fearsome its effect becomes. Its one weakness, though, is that you yourself are unable to initiate an attack."

Meliodas stepped to the side slightly. "You minx. You knew that, so you've been throttling your own ability."

Guila put her blade behind her head and straightened her other hand toward you. "Come now, you three. Try harder. Make this worth my time."

Diane and you shot toward her. You kept her distracted with buffeting winds while Diane tried her best to hammer Guila with blows.

"Serpent Sin Diane."
