Astella was born on the isle of the lost with her older brother Anthony. Anthony was the favorite of the family, so he never had to work at the hair salon their family ran called Curl Up and Dye. She instantly made friends with her younger cousin Dizzy when she was born, and Evie on the isle. Evie had a sister type of bond with the two cousins, and they slowly became friends with some other Villain kids such as Mal, Jay, and Carlos. Astella spent most of her time while she wasn't cleaning or working with either Carlos or Evie. She was devastated when they left for Auradon, but was excited since they were the first villain kids who ever crossed the barrier. While they were gone, she had started a club for villain kids who wanted to be good, much to her brother's hatred. She worked longer than she ever had at the salon since he told their Grandmother. After Uma had attacked during the royal cotillion, and Evie invited more children from the isle, Dizzy and Astella were the first to get the invite personally.
