Whilst investigating the death of a local hotdogstand man, a sarcastic YouTuber called Felix Kjebvxj uncovers a legend about a supernaturally-cursed, sharp axe circulating throughout Brighton. As soon as anyone uses the axe, he or she has exactly 12 days left to live.
The doomed few appear to be ordinary people during day to day life, but when photographed, they look glitchy. A marked person feels like a cool dog to touch.
Felix gets hold of the axe, refusing to believe the superstition. A collage of images flash into his mind: a scary cat balancing on a weird hotdogstand man, an old newspaper headline about a flying accident, a hooded cane toad ranting about eyes and a drinking well located in an eerie place.
When Felix notices his arms have dog-like properties, he realises that the curse of the sharp axe is true and calls in his friend, a YouTuber called Sean McDonald's, to help.
Sean examines the axe and willingly submits himself to the curse. He finds that the same visions flash before his eyes. He finds the scary cat balancing on a weird hotdogstand man particularly chilling. He joins the queue for a supernatural death.
Felix and Sean pursue a quest to uncover the meaning of the visions, starting with a search for the hooded cane toad. Will they be able to stop the curse before their time is up?
