It was the first week of May when a boy with black hair and white highlights hanging in front of his hair woke up. That boy was Cole. A 15 year old boy with heterochromia. Cole was a quiet boy in Blackstone High and he never really had any friends. Actually, he didn't have any at all. He was basically the loser in the whole school compared to his brother, Kyle. Kyle had just turned 16 a few days back. Kyle had this gorgeous body that any girl or boy would fall for. His shiny light brownish creamed coloured hair just accompanies his whole character nicely. Those shining blue eyes, he just looked perfect. He looked normal, he looked.. great
As Cole got ready for the day, Kyle was already sitting on the couch, playing with his phone. Now, Kyle isn't what you would think, he hates his abnormal brother. No, it's the total opposite, he loves him, he cares for him. But.. he just never spends enough time with him. Kyle would always be around his friends or he would be in his room, studying. Cole was too afraid to even see his friends, they hates him to the core. They think that Cole was disgusting with those eyes of his. Cole had a shade of light blue on his right eye and his pupil was actually indigo, but it looked like black. And for his left? Well, it was quartz white. The pupil was jet black. Just one lol at Cole's eyes would make anyone shudder in disgust.
"Morning Cole! How'd you sleep little bro?" Kyle said cheerfully. His lips formed into a smile and Cole replied nervously. He hadn't slept well and actually, he was awake almost the whole night. "I slept w-well! Anyways, what's for b-breakfast?" His voice kind of broke at the end but it wasn't that obvious. "We're having eggs with bacon. It's on the table."
Cole nodded and made his way to the dining table. He sat down and ate his breakfast. His mother should be out working already. Mrs. Miller is a single mother who has raised them both since Cole turned 4. Their dad died in an accident. It was when his father came back from a business trip and suddenly he got involved in a fatal car accident. Ever since then, that was when Cole changed.
About 15 minutes passed and Cole got his bag and water bottle. The brothers walked out of the house and Kyle double checked if they got everything before locking the front door. They got in Kyle's Honda CR-V and drove to school. Nervous as always, Cole fiddled with his fingers and he was staring out of the windows, trying to zone out before reaching the school, which lead to no avail. Kyle glanced at Cole and sighed. "Cole, it'll be okay. Just, ignore them okay? Everything will be alright." Kyle spoke with a soft and gentle tone, hoping that it would calm Cole down, just a little bit. Luckily, it did. Cole nodded and a small smile was on Cole's face as he faced him.
They finally reached the big campus and Kyle parked his car at the quiet parking lot filled with different and modern like cars. There were Honda's, Subaru's, and there were even some BMW's parked here and there. Just how many rich kids were in this school...?
He shrugged it off and hopped off the car. After the brothers part ways, Cole walked to his class which was kind of far from the parking lot. The people in the class were mostly talking to each other, sitting on tables, thinking that they owned the place. Cole sat at his usual spot -- the corner at the back. Being the loner kid at school, and diagnosed with heterochromia, things aren't gonna go well for the 15 year old Cole.
Suddenly, a group of people approached his table. They called themselves the 'cool kids' They're haired were dyed into weird colours, and the clothing they wear. They tried to look trendy but failed miserably.
"What do you want now, Wilson?" The blacked haired boy tilted his head up to look at a boy with white hair and red eyes. (Of course, he's wearing contacts.) The white haired just stared at him with a smirk on his face. All of a sudden, he took Cole by the collar and shoved him into a corner. People looked at the scene Wilson was creating and they just laughed it off. Wilson dropped Cole and kicked him in the stomach, punched him repeatedly while everyone gathered around him. They laughed, took pictures, some even recorded the whole incident.
Cole was a crying mess after being hit multiple times on his abdomen. His arms and face were covered in bruises. He struggled to get on his feet when Wilson shoved him onto the ground again and stepped on him. He groaned in pain and begged Wilson to stop, he didn't. He just stepped on his bruised stomach like he was crushing a piece of paper under his shoes.
15 minutes passed and Cole was left on the ground, tears streamed down his face and his whole body was a wreck. He finally got on his feet and he forced himself to get away from the crowd. He walked out of the classroom just to see his class teacher, Mrs Samantha.
"Mr. Miller? Goodness gracious! What happened to you? Let me bring you to the nurses office." She lead Cole to the nurses office, steadying him, preventing him not to fall. He sat on the bed as the nurses rubbed some disinfectant on his bruises before wrapping bandages around them. Kyle came running and stopped when he saw his younger brother. His cheeks were puffy and red from all the crying. The nurse talked to Mrs. Samantha privately when Kyle sat beside Cole, asking what happened but he refused to answer his question.
Tears started to form at the edge of Cole's eyes as Kyle pulled him into a hug. "You can tell me when we're finished with school, okay?" Kyle spoke with a gentle tone and ruffled Cole's black hair. Cole nodded when he finally spoke with his shaky and breathy voice. "Wilson. I-It was Wilson Hineman."
