Rebecca tossed her tired self on the bed that was laid before her.
No one cared about her. She had discovered. Her band of friends had been sent out for a quest. She was at her wits end.
She had found a good place for her stomach and her head. A small inn that had a spare room for her.
Her last gold coin she had hidden in her hair had paid for food and a night's stay.
She turned on the bed, her mind dragging the sleep from her eyes.

She finally succumbed to the sorrow and the pain.
The pain of loneliness and emptiness.
She has nothing left to fight for and nothing right to her was clear.

Her tears came out with silent sobbing. She dragged her self up from the bed and looked into the foggy mirror opposite her.

Then her mind flung to the note she found days ago.
Then her mood swiftly changed.
Things aren't adding up.
She stood up, reviewing the weird happenings.
The note?
It was a weird vague note.
But her brain was working and her instincts pressed on the contents of the note.

When she was small, she had small pieces of memory. She was teased for keeping stuff in her hair.
Now that skill had become handy.
She jammed her finger into her hair and produced the small note.
I'm gone
I know you and you know me.
The cave and the cottage.
The forest cave and the co-
And that's where it all stops.
The cave she had found and she had narrowly escaped a trap and uncovered a clue.
But the cottage. Was it in the village?..

Why she couldn't remember her childhood fully, she never knew. it was like a bad fever, hallucination or dream that she just couldn't remember.

As she was looking up at the cobweb filled ceiling, she noticed a small crack in the woodwork.  "what the hell is that?" she popped out of bed and traced the lines to the floorboard.

Maybe it's their cellar. or a storage.

The inn she was staying at, was really old, in fact they didn't get a lot of guests or visitors the store owner said.  Rebecca was a bit suspicious but she was glad she had privacy when she checked in.

she pulled aside all the dead wood, the room, made with wood long away was being eaten by termites and  was already coming apart.

why do i feel something calling towards me?

Eventually, she felt a small box-like object under a blanket of some sorts. Rebecca pulled the box out from under the blanket. it was dusty, she let out a loud sneeze.

the amount of dust and pieces of wood is starting to make me dizzy

The box had these strange carvings on it, like something was supposed to flow through it. Rebecca took the box and examined the carvings, tracing her fingers around the lines before something like a blade stabbed into her finger.

ouch! she tossed the box away, coiling back to suck the wounded finger, then she felt a tap on her shoulder.

a hidden blade? it needed blood to activate? but why my blood?

"finally, we've been waiting" A voice said.

she could smell it. the smell of blood, dry skin and different other weird smells. it was the same guys that kidnapped her.

Rebecca tried to turn, then stretched to reach her dagger, but the man pulled her back. immediately, she was surrounded by a bunch of forms in robes, they all began to chant.

humming strange words that she couldn't decipher.  two men held her arms up and then another man stepped towards her.  she pulled and struggled but the men were so strong.

why am i feeling so weak?

the man picked up the box and it shone in the moonlight, red as crimson, her blood flowed across those carvings and the box popped open. the man produced a strange dagger with the same kind of carvings.

"WITCHMOTHER, COME BEFORE US AND BREAK THE BARRIER" the man said, Rebecca kept squirming, trying her best to leave these strange men.

"no, no, please, please" she said as she kicked her legs out but she was getting more weaker,  her strength to speak left her.  the strange man slowly pushed the dagger to where her heart was.  "please. stop. i--" POW! she felt a sharp ting across her face. then another blow on her stomach.  she couldn't even speak anymore.

the man stabbed repeatedly, he kept stabbing her until he felt her eyes close. she was gone.

The man, Tobias took out his mask and said some more strange words, suddenly light filled Rebecca's limp and bruised body, it was like something had taken a living in her.

Then "it" stood in a more refined manner. it raised its hands to its face as if brushing off something. Rebecca's lifeless body was now possessed by something. the strange men all bowed before the body, it glowed, its light blinding and loud sounds of thunder repeated across the room. someone powerful has taken Rebecca's body.
