with no regrets,
she told me
she didn't want to be swallowed
whole into his world and lose every part of herself
she held so dear.
the parts that were present
at the times he wasn't.
she didn't desire for his love
as much as he took for granted hers.
and she knows it to be as true as i do
that one day
when she will no longer remember his name
he will be stuck whispering it
at the midnight hours
into the same ears
he lured into his life
to fill the void that came
as soon as she left.
