A long black cloak floated above the ground, a cloud of black deadly smoke appeared on his trail as he levitated into a small wooden cabin.

An old man sat there, rocking his chair as he slowly raised his head towards the terrifying creature.

He opened his mouth to speak, his eyes showing kindness.

" you must be death... it's my time to leave now right? "

The god of death only nodded as he needed to finish this soul before going to the multiversal meeting, he had no reason to waste his time on this old fool.

"before you reap me... I have a wish... "

A wish? That wasn't uncommon.

Most were about the victims family, this would just be the same.

Reaper raised his scythe as he got ready to reap this soul the moment he finished stating his probably useless wish.

" my wish is... For you to see through the lies... "

The skeletons body froze.

A wish... for him?

He felt something inside him emerge, something he thought he had gotten rid of years ago, pity, sadness, guilt.

Why were these emotions appearing now?

Why did this man's words reach him?

" the lies of the... Creato-"

"stop"

The scythe came down on the wise soul, fueled with nothing but anger and confusion.

Reaper watched as the elder disintegrated into nothing, his last word not reaching the skeletons non-existent ears.

If you listened closely, you could hear the god's ragged breath as he tried to figure out what had just happened.

He shook his head as he slowly floated out the cabin, let's just... Forget that happened...

Reaper opened a portal into the doddle sphere as he began to hear the familiar chatter of sanses arguing about what to do about the dark sanses and the destroyer.

The destroyer...

Not once had he seen this sans but from the stories Ink the creator, it was obvious that this monster was a true monster that deserved to be exterminated.

A souless, brutal, merciless monster.

His glare hardened as he continued to think.

Suddenly a small foot tap was heard as Reaper turned around hoping to see the familiar red internally bleeding slash only to see Ink.

Who was he expecting? What did red internally bleeding slash mean?

Something was missing, something important to him.

" Hello!! Reaper? You there?"

Reaper smiled grimly. Before nodding, not feeling like giving back a savage reply or flirt. Wait, flirt? Reaper never flirted before...

.

.

Was it just him or was there a yellow butterfly that just appeared from nowhere and was now fluttering towards him?

===with ???===

Silence...

That's all he could hear...

Then again, what did he want to hear? Insults? Threats?

...

No, he just wants to hear his brother.

Then again, where was his brother?

How long had he been here?

How long had he slept?

Was he still playing happily with the villagers?

Or... had they hurt him for his golden apples?

Clanking chains could be heard as the white skeleton attempted to move from his spot, once again, he was disappointed for he wasn't strong enough. He never was, and never will be.

He couldn't protect himself...

He couldn't protect ꀸꋪꍟꍏꎭ...

He... Couldn't protect the world from himself

"Are you finally accepting me?"

A clear flinch could be seen from the chained prisoner as a black figure appeared from the void like floor, or... was it a floor?

'no... I will not give up' the weak skeleton replied, but ,was he sure that he wouldn't give up? Every minute he was getting weaker, more desperate but he couldn't give up. Not when the lives of innocents was in risk...

But... He was innocent as well, he didn't deserve all the pain he went through before the accident...

The only thing the multiverse deserved was pai- the sound of a clattering crown rung out in the endless space as he finally snapped out of it, what was he thinking? Was the creatures words finally getting to him? No. He can't . He had to keep going. He can't give up.

No matter how long he had spent in this prison.

For Dream who should be playing in the fields of their au currently.

His dim eyes looked at the creature, no sparkle or hope left but he still kept going.

' if I was to give up, all these years of torture would of been nothing. I can't give up. I won't give up.'

Slowly he stood up and walked over to the fallen crown, he was a guardian. If he allows himself to give up so quickly, he wouldn't deserve his title.

At least Dream was happy, at least Dream was enjoying time with his friends beside the tree of feelings.

A small hiss from the black creature confirmed that it was angry- no, furious.

"Fine" the creature growled before returning his expression to a grin, "but don't come begging me for help". After that, the small skeleton was left alone again, in the eternal darkness he was stuck in. This time however, he felt warm... he felt hope. A sudden feeling of exhaustion filled his systems as he felt himself close his eyes, perhaps... it's fine to take a break... let's just sleep... yeah... sleep.

Finally letting go of his awareness he drifted off, not noticing the flash of white around him.
