Tides that Rolled back

Prerna found the door slightly ajar... and was a bit alerted. And then she entered to find her nemesis sleeping on her favourite chair. All she could think was that she must be hallucinating. The stupid fool must have again run away from his Uni... Prerna was really angry and splashed a jug of water on his face. He woke up grumpy and cursing the air blue.

"Damn if i don't strangle you for this...you bloody Piddi. What's wrong with your non existing grey cells?"
When he looked at her properly he jumped out of his chair...

"No no no noooooo... joota nahi." Smack on his head the first one and the next one on his chest...damn she was always good with her aim at throwing missiles. "Hogaya tera, ya aur kuchh bhi baki hai? Matlab 6 saal mein teri khopdi mein ek bhi grey cell ki paidawar nahi hui.... ab bhi asylum case hai tu" rubbing his head.

"Anurag agar tu last moment pe apni thesis adhi chhod ke ayaa hai toh tu dekh main tera kya haal karti hu. Gadha kahika. Damn things must be ending in a few more weeks ...max to max in two months..Why af hell did you have to go ruin it?"

She looked so distressed it hurt him a bit that she was not happy to meet him after so long but then he smiled thinking he would have flunked in a few classes if it weren't for her and her strictness with him. After all he was Anurag Basu, why would he waste his time studying boring books. But this Piddi had kept pushing him and today he was much more than just Moloy Basu's son. He had few patents to his own name. He has an offer to work as a partner in a venture capitalist firm to evaluate new products coming up in the world of automation. Yes he has done it all for this Piddi

"Achha, insaan ban... khadi ho and give me a hug. Kya dekh rahi hai...khadi ho."

She looked a bit embarrassed and then said "woh kharab ho gaya tha ...and maine theek nahi karwaya."

He understood, it has been always him who fixed her Robo Walker... she must not gotten it fixed because he was not there. So he just picked her up and hugged her holding her body to himself and noticing she has grown taller and fuller in all this time. Finding he breathed a bit easier but then he choked with all the emotions this girl awakened in him and Prerna immediately started to rub his back holding his chin up with other hand... and he looked at her face it had the same no makeup look. But her face was slimmer eyes still had a bruised look.... she looked beautiful and welcoming but also like someone whose been through a war with herself.

She was still the shy vulnerable girl who had a streak of being the wildest... naughtiest and bravest person he has ever met. "Bola tha maine tu mere saath chal. Toh ab agar main fail hua toh sab teri galati hai samjhi. Dreams tere aur bali ka bakra mujhe bana diya. Ab kya? jhel tu, main nahi janewala vapas."

Pree : "Grumpy... please yaar aisa mat kar. Its just a matter of few weeks... fir tu kahi bhi, kabhi bhi chalne ke liye bolega, chalungi main... pukka promise. Please.. pleeeeease tune promise kiya tha mujhse on our 10th Friendship Anniversary ke tu mere saare dreams pure karega."

Anu: "haa aur tune mera band baja diya uske baad se... I am taking my promise back, main yahi rehne wala hu. Jo ukhadna hai ukhad le. You are just exploiting my leniency and that's all. Bloody Bandariya"🐒

Pre: "Tu baith main tere liye kuchh khane ko banati hu, fir hum bohot sari baaten karenge... then you sleep and...."

Anu: "Aur phir tera emotional atyachar shuru🙄🙄.... bhul jaa. Kuch khila rahi hai toh bata aur phir mujhe sone de jet lag ho raha hai mujhe"

Anu got freshened up had the simple bengali food that Pre prepared with his fingers and licking them up from time to time. Pre was amazed at him and then shook her head in wonder. This was a guy who must have eaten at the best of restaurants but at heart he will remain the pure Bengali guy who could kill for his mishti doi.

After the food Anu yawned and Pree set up his bed. Her grumpy was a lazy bum always needs his sleep a little too dearly. Anurag settled to get his sleep by picking Pree up and holding her like a Teddy snuggles and bolster both put together. Pree moved to get settled herself, she was used to him sleeping like this with her. But they have grown up now and it's been more than 6 years, so she moved a few more times, which disturbed him "Chuza ek baar aur hilli na toh neeche fek dunga, sone de mujhe samjhi?"

Pree smiled to herself, her Grumpy will always remain Grumpy no amount of International exposure could change that. One could do whatever Anurag Basu doesn't change with passing time he was her Unmovable Rock as ever.
