She stepped out of the car with a small, charming smile

She stepped out of the car with a small, charming smile.

The very same one that she had managed to perfect after years of faking happiness.

But deep down, she felt dazed; overwhelmed by the noise that surrounded her so suddenly. It was as if she had swum back up to the loud surface after being submerged under the tranquil ocean for so long. Disorienting; that's what it was.

She looked around-- trying to spot the supercilious faces of her parents, but they were nowhere to be found. She turned to her chauffeur, tilting her head curiously. However, before he could answer her unvoiced question, a shrill, nasally voice called their attention.

"(Y/N)!" The addressed girl turned towards the woman approaching. Internally sighing, she straightened up. But at the same time, her grin had become tired. "Good Morning, Miss A."

"None of that, my girl!" (Y/N) was then pulled into an unwanted embrace. She tensed up, wanting nothing more than to pull away when the strong scent of rose perfume overtook her sense of smell. "Call me auntie, sweetheart." And with that, she received an exaggerated and noisy kiss on each cheek from the lady she knew to be her mother's secretary. But the girl knew that she would much rather be referred to as her mother's 'best friend'.

"How have you been? Oh, you've grown so much..." This was the part where (Y/N) had begun to tune the other out. It was nothing against the elder. The girl just had better things to worry about at the moment other than her senseless rambling.

Miss A was a forgettable character. Hence why (Y/N) resorted to just calling her the first letter of her name-- the only bit she could remember-- Miss A. But she was also a very... ambitious woman-- for lack of a better term. She'd do just about anything to be even half as successful as (Y/N)'s mom. But unfortunately, she had taken the quote 'If you want to be successful, find someone who has achieved the results you want and copy what they do and you'll achieve the same results.' from Tony Robbins a bit too literally.
