The smile slipped off my face as the definition sat in my mind. It didn't take a genius to put two and two together. Voldemort isn't gone, and he never was. I couldn't believe it. I slammed the book shut, holding it like it was satan itself as I dropped it into my bag and scrambled to my feet. I took off running down the bridge, until I smacked into someone.
"Malfoy, move!" I snapped, not in the mood to deal with anything right now. He gripped my elbows, so I couldn't go anywhere.
"Did you just call me Malfoy?" I ground my teeth in annoyance, struggling against him. "Are you alright? Why are you being so difficult?" He frowned, and I groaned.
"I'm sorry, but I have to go somewhere! Please let me go, this is important Draco!"
"Lettie, stop whining and tell me what's so important!" He shook me a bit, and I groaned again. "Lettie!"
"I can't tell you." I huffed, looking up into pale blue eyes. I really couldn't, because even if we are friends, Draco might go running to his parents. Who will tell mine. Then I'll really be in for. "Please let me go!"
"You heard her Malfoy! Let her go!" I peaked around him to see another stubborn boy. I all but cursed as Harry came to my aid. Draco glared at him, wrapping an arm around my waist and tugging me to him.
"Guys! I can't deal with this right now, I have to find him!"
"Find who?" They chorused, then glared at each other. I looked between the two of them helplessly. What do I do? I can trust Harry with this... After all, one day he's more than likely going to have to deal with it himself. But Draco... He's batting for the other team. He's on the wrong side. I can't mention anything in front of him. Not until I know where his loyalty lies. And right now, I have a feeling it's not with me.
"I can't tell you." I hung my head, not able to fight against him anymore. They won't let me go. My brain was whirring, trying to think of a lie.
"Whatever. Go with Potter then, you're probably going to tell him the minute I leave anyway." Draco scoffed, shoving me away from him roughly. And there it is. He has a temper and if he and I ever got in a fight, he may go and tell his parents to get back at me. I can't have that. I nearly hit the ground before Harry caught me.
"Lettie!" He sighed in relief, helping me regain my balance. I looked back, and Draco was already gone. I launched myself at Harry, hugging him. He rubbed my back awkwardly, trying to help. It did, because I knew he cared.
"Thank you, Harry." I whispered, pulling away. "He's a friend of mine, but we want different things." I explained, looking after Draco. Harry nodded in understanding, lifting my bag that I had dropped. It was soaked. "Thank you."
"Sorry I couldn't save it before."
"Don't be. You're forgetting about magic, Harry." I smiled softly, drying my eyes. I asked him to hold the back out from his body, which he did, watching eagerly. I cast a quick dry charm, and it was warm and dry. Harry's eyes widened, and I giggled. "You're silly."
"I'm like a muggleborn." He nodded in agreement, chuckling to himself.
"Nothing wrong with that." I smiled, putting my bag across my body and holding the strap with my hands. I nudged Harry teasingly and we started walking. My urgency from earlier had left me. I need more details... but maybe the headmaster has though... No. I will find a little more proof, because for all I know, my parents are speculating. I hope they are.
"Lettie?" Harry waved a hand in front of my face, pulling me from my thoughts.
"Sorry Harry. I was thinking."
