"Young Avengers?"
by Jessica Jones on August 5thWe've all wanted to be superheroes. Ever since the Invaders first came about during World War II, what kid hasn't wanted to be Captain America or Namor or some of the more recent Avengers like Iron Man or Miss Marvel? But yesterday, a group of superpowered teenagers showed up to stop a group of armed men who had attacked a wedding and taken the guests hostage.
Their leader appeared to be a boy calling himself Iron Lad, wearing a suit of high tech armor very similar to Tony Stark's Iron Man armor. The others were a super-strong boy with green skin calling himself Hulkling, a girl with green hair in a green version of the Scarlet Witch's costume calling herself Emerald, a boy with lightning powers calling himself Wiccan and a young man wearing what appeared to be a modified version of Bucky's old uniform.
Now, for those readers unaware of who Bucky is, Bucky was Captain America's old teen sidekick during World War II who was unfortunately killed on the same mission that ended with Cap frozen in an icecap for decades.
Now, this reporter has to ask herself, is this a sign of more good people being inspired by the acts of the Avengers to help their fellow man, or is it merely another group of teens seeking attention?
Only time will tell what those Young Avengers really are.
