one week later
as finn sits on his bed, staring up at the ceiling while listening to the magical mystery tour vinyl, as his gaze shifts to his desk where he notices the old beaten up scrunchie that was shot at him the past week. he smiles at the thought of the girl.
finn sat up from his bed, his eyes still on the light blue scunchie. He stood up from his bed, picking up the scrunchie and grabbing his keys. He takes the scrunchie and puts it on his key ring, smiling at the thought of her. Millie.
He decides to go to orange julius once again. He wanted to see the girl. he wants to see her with her cute hair and her cute face. Something about Millie was extremely intriguing. He wanted to know more about her.
"Where are you going?" The short, brown haired girl asked her brother.
"Just to the mall, Brooklyn. Stay out of it." Finn said, snapping at his sister.
"Going to see your, girlfriend?" She sang.
"I don't have a girlfriend." He replied, getting annoyed with Brooklyn.
"Well i-" Brooklyn said before Finn walked out, shutting the door on her face.
Finn hopped into his car, turning on the radio.
As walked up to the orange julius, he noticed that the girl wasn't there. Her best friend was there though. He quickly turned around, attempting to not get the best friend talk.
"Hey Finn." Noah said, causing Finn to slowly turn around.
"Hi." Finn slightly smiled, wondering what's coming next.
"I'm about to go on my break. You wanna sit down with me for a second?" He asked. Noah was determined to meet Finn before anything happened between him and Millie.
"Uh, sure." Finn nervously replied. Noah came from behind the counter, holding two orange julius', handing one to Finn.
"Ok, here's the deal." Noah said as he sat down. "You seem like a totally cool and nice guy, but I need to talk to you before anything happens with Mills. She's my best friend and the last guy she dated was a piece of work, so I'm not gonna let any new douchebags stumble on into her life." He says, finishing his statement with a sip of his drink.
"I wasn't planning on doing anything to her. I honestly just wanted to get to know her. Hear her story. Ya know? She seems like a really cool girl, and something about her is intriguing to me. You can interrogate me all you want because I promise, you'll find nothing bad about me." Finn smiled at the boy across from him.
"Ok. We're gonna start with the main question. What are your intentions?"
"Like I said, I just wanna get to know her. Nothing more than that." Finn replied.
"Okay...how many girlfriends have you had in the past and how many of them did you dump?" Noah questioned.
"I've had one and it was super serious. It was a mutual breakup because she was moving away to another state and we didn't think long distance would be healthy."
"How high up on your list of priorities would Millie be?" Noah asked.
"My morals have always been that my family comes first. My mom, dad, and little sister Brooklyn. So it would be family, then Millie. That's obviously nothing against her, I just-"
"You don't need to explain yourself. That was a good answer." Noah smiled back. Suddenly, his phone buzzed in his pocket.
Chloe: Dude get home. You told mom that you'd make dinner! You're like 30 minutes late.
"Oh shit. I need to get home. Uhh, I was gonna bring this to Millie because she's sick but I can't do it right now. Is there any way you could bring it to her?" Noah asked, handing Finn a bowl of soup from Panera bread.
"Um, I guess?" Finn shrugged, taking the bowl into his hands.
"Ok. Thanks. Her address is 353 Elm Street. Sorry. I know it's a huge ask and we literally just met but I seriously need to get home." Noah says, rushing out of the mall.
What the hell just happened?
-
Finn suddenly found himself in front of a light blue, two story house with a white fence in front of it. You could kind of tell that it was her house. It suited the girl.
He walked up to her front door, ringing the bell, and was greeted by a woman. Supposedly Millie's mom.
"May I help you?" The woman asked.
"Uh, hi. I'm one of Millie's friends. I brought her some soup." The boy awkwardly smiled.
"Oh, hi! Come in. I'm Kelly. Millie's room is right upstairs, to the left." She smiled. Finn gave a quiet thank you and slowly headed up the stairs. It felt a bit weird to him to be going up to this girl's room. They had met once, and yeah he kinda had a small crush on her but didn't really think anything of it.
He lightly tapped his knuckle on the white door. "Come in." A quiet voice said, followed by a cough. Finn slowly opened the door, revealing the petite girl, snuggled up in her sheets, with her hair pulled back with the light pink scrunchie. He smiled as he noticed it. "Finn?" Millie sat up in confusion.
"Yeah, hi." He awkwardly laughed. "Noah and I met today."
"Oh, yikes. How'd that go?" She lightly laughed.
"Well I'd say pretty good, seeing as how he trusted me enough to bring you soup." He said, causing the girl to laugh.
"Thanks." She smiled. "What did he ask you? I know he can be a bit persistent."
"Nothing big and important. Just questions." Finn smiled.
"Ok, well thanks for the soup." She said, her eyes reflecting the light in the window.
"You're welcome." He said. "I should really get going." He said, opening the door.
"Ok, well thanks again for the soup." Millie smiled. "Come on Thursday. I'll be in then."
"Will do, buckeroo." Finn said, cringing at what he said.
"Yeah, uh, don't say that again." Millie laughed.
"Wasn't planning on it." He said as he shut the door to her bedroom, leaving her with a smile.
