Chapeter 1 -Bye New York ..... Hello Texas

"now explain to me why i had to move in with them" i said to the probation officer

"u know why you are only 15 you can't live on your own"

She says

I mumbled some words i hate moving, yes i know my parents died in a fire but still i can raise myself and my lil brother on my own

We pulled up to the house well now it is more like a mansion i haven't been here in 7 years the moment the car stopped i could see my aunt in the porch

I woke up my brother

"Darren wake up were here"

His eyes finally opened and he became so excited he opened the door and ran into my aunt Emily's arms

I got out of the car still unsure about this but i bit of relief came over when I saw aunt Emily's son Zyan next to her he was a year older than me and was always there for me

"well well well isn't it my lil muffin " he said as he hugged me

" cheerios wats up i miss u so much"

"of course you missed me i am Zyan remember "

" i see your ego has gotten bigger "

" harsh much but let me show you your room and Darren's too"

Zyan showed Darren his room and he jumped on the bed and then he showed me mine

"wow this room is the

size of your living room, kitchen and bathroom combined "

" yh mom did some renovations"

"it looks amazing by the way when are we starting school here"

"in two days and Darren is going to the kindergarten next to our school "

" well my lil muffin i will leave you to relax see you at dinner "

After the door was closed i laid on the bed. I can't believe a few months ago i was in a home with my parents but now i am in my. Grand parents house. I just hope my past doesn't come back to haunt me

I was soon fast asleep

" Sarah it's 8:30 it's time for dinner" my aunt yelled

"ugh i already hate it here we eat together" i thought as i walked to the kitchen

" hi sweety u slept well"

"yes aunty i love your renovation by the way"

"thank u i try my best"

" aunty emi where is darren and zyan"

"oh honey zyan wanted to carry Darren to the park u were sleeping when they left"

"oh al right"

Suddenly i heard the front door open and saw ny lil brother running into the kitchen zyan behind him

"i see you had fun" i said as i lift him up for a hug

"omg it was awesome sus zyan showed me every thing but i like the park at home"

I frown appeared on my face. Home where have no home. I could never tell darren he is an orphan it will kill him he is only 6

"i know lil bro now go change it's time for dinner"

"ok sus I'll de right back he said before running up the stairs

I turn to see zyan and aunt emily looking at me

"Sarah i can see you really care about your brother" aunt emily says

"he is the only family i have left "

We ate our dinner and to be honest it was not that bad we laughed and ate aunty Emily's delicious food to be honest i could do it again

After that i said good night to zyan and aunty emily and went to Darren's room to tuck him in. I walked in to see him trying to tuck himself in

" sus i can do it i am a big boy" he said as he puffed up his chest

I chuckled as i sat next to him on the bed "i know darren but i promised mom i would do it"

"i know" he replied

I i was about to finish Darren took my hand " sus do u miss mommy and daddy"

i sighed at the thought of the accident " more than you know Darren but they are always here with us in your mind ( touches his head) and heart now go to bed we have school in the morning"

I know i was lying but it was the only way to get him to fall asleep i closed tje door and headed to my room.

As i laid on my bed i thought bad to my parents final hours but i could bare the thought

I closed my eyes and sighed

"bye Texas hello South Carolina "
