Yeah so this is shit wrote this a LONG time ago like 3 years before I made a Wattpad account and wrote it on here but you know what is life without some embarrassment. Comment the typos!

Alexa walked into the room seeing her mom past out on the couch she doesn't flinch and walked over to her mom placing a blanket over her body before walking into the kitchen grabbing a drink and walked back to her crappy room when she opened the door there was an old table standing against the wall with an old wooden chair and on the other side of the room there was a mattress laying on the ground, next to her door there was standing a small drawer for her clothes. She walked over to her friend Jade and handed her a glass with water, Jade had raven Black hair and deep blue eyes she was wearing a long shirt tied around her waist with a belt, some look through black leggings and some white sneaker. "sorry all we had" I said "don't bother but how are you doing" Jade asked her best friend. Jade has been Alexa's friend since they were 4 after her mom started drink she would spend a lot of time crashing at Jade her house. "Oh come on Alec talk to me," Jade said smiling. Alexa's smile appeared for a second when she heard the name Alec, Jade always called her that because when they were young Jade never could pronounce her name right. There was a blurry memory of her dad when he used to call her that. Alec meant Helper and defender it held her close to the faded memory of her dad, even though it was a boys name she didn't mind everything that reminded her of her dad would help her get through the day "well if you think working my butt off and trying to pay the bills means good then yes I am great" Alexa said sarcastic "I am sorry Alec" Jade said. Alec sat down on the mattress and Jade laid a hand on her knee "I am just trying to cheer you up, that's everything" Jade said "well at least someone is trying but let's not talk about, that how is school" Alexa looked at Jade her deep blue eyes and her raven black hair which was in a high loose ponytail "nothing just subjects" Jade said "how happy would I be to just be at school for one day" Alexa said. She placed her glass beside the mattress and lay down with her hands under her head "well you don't, believe me" Jade said jokingly. She got out of the chair and laid down next to her "I would do anything for just one day as a normal teenager with a normal life, no alcoholic mother, no dead father just a normal life" Alexa looked up at the roof and then back at Jade. Alexa laid with her head on Jade her shoulder falling asleep.

"come on get up we need to go grocery shopping" Alexa got up and walked to her drawer and opened the top drawer grabbing a black crop top with a choker and some black skinny jeans "need to borrow any clothes" Alexa asked looking over at Jade who was still laying in the mattress under the covers. "Yes please," she said getting up "red or grey," Alexa asked getting through the drawer looking for a red shirt and a grey crop top. She turned around with the two options "grey" Jade said. Alexa nodded and gave her the crop top with dark blue skinny jeans "here" Alexa handed her the outfit. "I am in the bathroom if you need me" Alexa walked out of the room seeing her mom sleep on the couch. When she looked at her she touched the scar on her left cheek thinking back about that night.

"You are nothing more than a disappointment your not a human your a monster" her mother yelled at her. As always she was drunk and let it out on Alexa. The police has come to the house multiple times because the neighbors thought something was wrong but I told them there was nothing wrong "you were supposed to pay the bill" her mom continued yelling at her "aren't you supposed to do that instead of buying alcohol from the money I work for instead of working so you can take care of your daughter" Alexa yelled back at her "don't talk to me like that, I raised you for god damn sake" my mom grabbed a knife threatening me "you destroyed me you don't love me you know who did love me my dad but he died" Alexa kept yelling as he rage grow in her mother "don't to about your father like that" her mom yelled as she swung the knife through the air at Alexa. She missed but now without craving a deep cut in Alexa her left cheek. Alexa started crying she grabbed her jacket and walked out to Jade her house which was only a few blocks away. When Jade opened the door her mouth fell open seeing Alexa standing there with a deep cut in her cheek and blood pouring out "omg what happened" Jade said she opened the door more so Alexa could walk in "a fight with my mom, again" she said "let me get my mom" Jade walked upstairs. Alexa said down waiting for Jade and her mother to come back, Alexa was lucky Jade her mom was a doctor otherwise she would be at a hospital right now trying to explain that her mom did this to her "oh sweetie" Alexa heard Meredith the mother from Jade say as she rushed downstairs sitting down next to me with a box with medical supplies in her hand. She placed the box down on the coffee table facing Alexa again. She moved her head looking at her cheek "that is gonna need stitches it is a deep cut, are you okay" Meredith asked trying to distract Alexa from the pain of the needle "yeah I am fine, I had worst" Alexa said trying to sound tough "well just look out next time okay" Meredith finished the last stitch and put everything back "you can stay here tonight if you want" Meredith said getting up from the couch "thank you" Alexa turned her face to Jade as they talked all night long.

"Hey, are you okay," Jade said walking into the room "yeah I am fine I was about to change give me a moment." Alexa walked into the bathroom changing in her clothes. When she walked back into the room Jade already had put on her shoes and jacket. Alexa walked into the room quick grabbing a black hoodie and her old sneakers. She walked to the kitchen grabbing some money and walked out to go to the grocery store.

After getting stuff for breakfast, lunch and diner Alexa and Jade walked out laughing. "but I mean did you saw his face" Jade said laughing hard "yeah, let's get home quick" Alexa grabbed Jade her wrist.

When they arrived home Alexa's mom was gone. "she is probably at the store getting more liquor," Alexa said she walked to the kitchen placing down the bag. She looked at a small box where all the money always was laying, the box was open and there was only 20 dollar left in the box. "what do you want cereals or eggs" Alexa looked into the room at Jade "cereals please" she said. Alexa made two bowls with cereals and milk placed the rest of the groceries in the fridge and walked with the two bowls into the room. "I have a present for you" Jade said grabbing something out of her purse "here," she said showing Alexa a brand new iPhone XR "what...no I can't take this" Alexa pushed the iPhone away "yes you can there is already a sim card in there and you already have my number and my moms if you ever need anything" Jade explained "thank you" Alexa said hugging her. She never had a phone because she could never afford it so this means everything to her "happy birthday" Jade said. "thank you" "now eat" Alexa put the box down and gave Jade the bowl with cereals in them "thanks Alec" she said "no problem,"
