Marlon

I ran upstairs to my room and cried on my bed.

"It's not fair. I was keeping up with them but Joseph never realises it."

I heard footsteps coming towards the door.

"Hey Marlon." It was Michael.

"Oh, hi Michael." I mumbled. He came up to me and sat on my bed.

"I don't know why Joseph keeps on saying to me and the others, do it like Michael, copy Michael. It's annoying that he keeps on comparing us to you even though we're not you."

"Listen, don't mind him. Even I don't know why he does that," Michael reassured me, putting his arm around my neck. "You're my older brother. You don't need to be like me to make Joseph happy."

"Yeah. Mother always said that to me when Jermaine was the lead singer."

"Oh yeah I remember. I was just 6 years old and I overheard them saying that."

We saw Mother at the door smiling at us.

"And I'm very proud of you boys." She came to us and sat on the bed between me and Michael. "See I know your father always compares you to Michael and I understand how irritating it is but remember what he said. You don't need to make him happy by copying what he does. You are your person, Marlon."

"You're right. I don't. I'm gonna follow what you too just said to me."

"That's the spirit." Michael laughed. We both hugged each other and Mother smiled at us.

"Michael, Marlon. Get down here now!" We heard Joe yell.

"Coming Joseph." We both yelled in unison. We ran back downstairs and Mother followed us.
