Chapter Nine

Shining with light, It steals my gaze. I want to hold it, I want to try touching it. You are just like this firefly.

As if the music was muted. They both stared into each other's eyes. Y/n was shocked. It didn't make any sense. What was he doing here? Why? What's happening? Wasn't he in Busan?

All of those questions were eating her alive as she stared at the man walking closer to the Jinae who was smiling at him like an idiot. 

On the other side, Jungkook clenched his fist before wrapping his arm around the girl's waist. Even though he didn't wanted to do it. He had to. Y/n scoffed as she saw the scene in front. It was funny how she was worrying about him a day ago and here he is. Standing with a girl by his side. 

"Y/n, meet my soon to be fiance Jungkook." Her eyes widened at the word fiance. She couldn't believe what the girl was saying was true. So she moved her gaze to only meet Jungkook's. When she saw him staring back with a flat emotionless face. She got her answer. 

"Oh t-that's nice. You guys do make a really cute couple." Jungkook tightened his fist as he looked down. Feeling so hopeless and weak. But he kept repeating one thing. 'I'm doing this for my parents.'

 He loved this girl in front of him but he couldn't do anything. He couldn't say it to her. 

He had to stay quite. Because he wants to give back every happiness to his parents. 

By being born as a mute for all of his life. The only thing he brought to his family was shame. Everyone made fun of the his mother for giving birth to a mute. 

He was humiliated in front of everyone in school for being mute. He was made fun of since he was kid throughout high school. Until Y/n met him. From the time she came into his life everything changed. 

He changed. 

He started loving himself. He started gaining his confident back. He started dreaming about his future where he was with Y-

"Well, come on. Let's go to the table. Our parents are waiting." Taehyung spoke breaking the tension which was building. And he could feel it. Anyone could.  

Smiling at him. Y/n turned around without giving another look at Jungkook. She walked off to the table. 

How much more bad her night could get?

She hated this life.

"Trust me! I love you!!!" The man yelled as the door of the washroom was locked from inside. His hands were preventing the other person to leave from his cage. All they did was stare into each other's eyes as both of them shed tears. 

"I love you goddamn it!" Taehyung yelled again as their forehead touched. 

"Taehyung I know that but y-you are engaged-" Before the other person could say anything more. Taehyung's lips shut them up. He didn't wanted to leave this relationship. This is not what he wanted. He didn't wanted this engagement to start with. He wasn't even into girls.

Pulling away Taehyung cupped the other persons face as he wiped the diamond like tears with his thumb. 

"I don't care. You are mine. You are only mine Jimin and that's it. I am not ending anything."

Jungkook stood back. As he watched you talking with the guests. How he wanted to run up to her now and pull her into his arms. 

Tell her that everything's going to be okay. That he loves her. That he needs her but he can't have her. 

"Jungkookie, let's go dance!"  Jinae spoke cutely as she held onto Jungkook's hand. He hesitated for a while before he moved his eyes towards the place where you were. 

When he saw looking to his side. He quickly nodded to the girl as he brought her up to the dance floor. They both danced to the slow music. With their eyes into each others. Her hands moving up from his back to his neck. Jungkook hated this. 

Her touch was killing him but he had to take it in. 

He can't forget the deal he made with Mr Kim. 

Flashback

It was during this time when Jungkook used to work in one of the rich resturant. Once Mr Kim was there with his whole family to have dinner and that's how Jinae met Jungkook. The time her eyes fell on him. She wanted him. 

She was like this spoiled girl. Her parents would give her everything she wants even if it meant something illeagal. They would give it to their daughter. 

After going to home. Jinae cried her eyes until Mr KIm agreed to get Jungkook for her. 

He went to the restaurant to buy him. However, when he found out that Jungkook was mute he took advantage of it as he took his signs wrong and told his daughter that Jungkook  agreed. 

After they reached Busan. Mr KIm texted Jungkook again about the deal of marrying his daughter and he would give anything in return and jungkook took this as an opportunity. 

Thinking he has been useless for his whole life. But selling himself would bring happiness to his family he would. 

He sold his love. 

He sold himself. 

For his parents happiness. 

Flashback Ends

He sighed when he saw Jinae placing her head on his shoulder as they moved to the music. His eyes landed on yours. He could see that he hurt you. 

'I love you Y/n.'

'Will this feelings overflowing through me, reach and connect with you, who is standing so far away from my reach? '

They were so close yet so far away. They both loved each other. But they both didn't know that. The feeling was making them difficult to breath. This society was killing their innocent love little by little. 

Will this be the end of their love story?

Is their love going to accept the defeat and bow down?
