Homecoming week
Monday night
11:01 p.m.

Miles started his patrol later than usual. He didn't mean to, he got distracted by homework and ended up accidentally taking a nap. That happened more often than he'd like to admit. He was eating a slice of pizza from a pizza box a pizza delivery guy gave him as a result of saving his life from a robber trying to break into his car. His feet dangled off of the stairway that was across the street from Visions which seemed almost invisible due to all the lights being turned off.

Sometimes he liked to forget about his life as Miles Morales and instead live as Spider-Man for as long as he could. It was an amazing escape from his stressful school life that consumed almost all of his free time. Swinging through the city was the only thing he could think about during class some days when he couldn't focus on the lesson. The minute he was able to put on his suit and go out into the streets of Brooklyn he did it in a heartbeat.

The pizza box was now in the trash can below him. He forgot to eat supper that night and was grateful for the late meal. The window to his room was yet again cracked open, the only way he could get back into his room without actually entering Visions. Besides, he didn't think walking through a school in his Spider-Man suit would be the greatest of ideas.

Miles slipped back into his room, already taking off his mask. Olivia was out of the room but he noticed she left the door cracked open. Before he could even take off his suit he heard her approach the door again. Not knowing what to do, he jumped onto the ceiling and crawled until the door was below him. Olivia walked in, him slowly following her so he could drop down the minute she laid back down. That plan didn't work out though because Olivia decided to turn back around and found Spider-Man on her dorm room ceiling.

She let out a yell which caused Miles to jump and he slipped from the ceiling, now dangling upside down on a web. Luckily no one heard and came barging into the room. That's the last thing he needed.

Miles spoke first. "Uh, why are you here?"

"I live here too? And why are you dangling from the ceiling?"

"That's the only question you have right now?"

"I have a few more."

Miles sighed and dropped onto the ground. Olivia's jaw dropped, running over to turn their room light on. He sat down at the computer chair while playing with the mask in his hands. The silver eyes shined back at him.

"This... this is a joke right? You're joking?"

"I'm not Olivia."

"So you're... you're actually..."

He tossed her the mask. She caught it and held it in her hands that appeared to be shaking slightly. She stared at it like a woman that just got engaged looked at the new ring on her finger; amazed and in awe.

"I'm Spider-Man, Olivia."

"I may faint just a heads up."

He chuckled, watching her sit down on his bunk bed still holding the mask. Tonight she was wearing a sweatshirt with her favorite band on it with some fuzzy slippers she wore whenever she left the room at night.

"Okay so.. this is real. This is actually happening. I'm awake and this isn't a dream right?"

"Yep. You just caught me trying to sneak back in but as you can see it didn't work out so well."

"How long?" She held up the mask.

"A year or so."

Her jaw dropped yet again. "You've kept it hidden for that long?"
