Okay, you guys might just hate me for this, but the last chapter Icy Tundra, I will be deleting it, because the more I think into the story, the further I see its uselessness. And to readers who haven't read that chapter, don't worry about it.

And here, the long awaited for real, legitimate, GOOD, (and not some bullshit I came up with because i wanted to update) chapter:

Skylar

The walk back to the house went by fairly quickly. After Ryan's sudden expression of feelings I had never seen in him before, things melded back into their rightful place with us just throwing sass back and forth in our usual playful banter. In some ways, it had been refreshing, getting away from the normality that had been us for the past three years. It seems that, despite everything we've been through and how much we knew about each other, there were those little bits that we had yet to discover.

And because we had returned to ourselves, the past moments and incidents involving wolves, Alec's t-shirt and a witch having been pushed aside, the walk was over as quickly as it had started. Even after three years of being around each other, one year of marriage and a young child we had produced to account for it all, he still managed to distract me from everything else in life.

It did nothing, however, to distract me from the impatient Lish standing on the other side of the door with Jake wrapped around her right leg. I gave a shaky laugh, apologizing three times before reaching down and plucking Jake from her.

"Sorry." I muttered again, grimacing.

She just shook her head, moving aside to let us in. "Now are you two going to help me understand why you took so long?"

My eyes flicked up to Ryan's. He seemed to be thinking the same thing. I sighed regrettably. "Maybe when we understand it ourselves." I murmured in reply. "Thank you for watching Jake, I owe you one."

Lish laughed, moving around me so I could see her lopsided grin. "No, you just owe me an explanation. And I'll be patient for that at least." She said. "Just, don't keep out of the loop."

I smiled at her then. "No problem, Lish."

She walked away and I turned to Ryan. He was looking at me curiously. "What now?" I asked, for once unsure what I wanted to do with my life.

Ryan shrugged, prying Jake from my grasp. He protested only slightly before situating himself into the nook of Ryan's neck, closing his eyes. I smiled slightly. "Well, before we figure out this whole mess, you should probably sleep. You've got bags under your eyes and you're probably tired from your first shift." I opened my mouth. "Whether you know it or not."

I grumbled under my breath, my hands involuntarily coming up to feel under my eyes. Of course I didn't actually feel anything but I had no doubt that he was right. I hadn't exactly had the most pleasant experience shifting. "Alright."

Ryan led the way up the two sets of stairs, into our room. I walked in just as he relaxed on his side of the bed, Jake still nestled comfortably on his chest. I smiled again at the sight of them. Two bundles of extreme cuteness but no doubt, underneath there were hardcore badasses. (Jake just had to grow into that).

I slipped my shoes off and flopped down next to him, laying my arms out wide, the fingers of my right hand automatically curling into the fingers of his left. We both stared up at the ceiling, matching our intakes of breath and harmonizing our heartbeats. It was still a wonder to me what the mating bond could do and what affects it had.

"So what are we going to do about this?" I murmured softly. "Their pack witch hadn't known anything about it. Do you think ours would? Or Maggie?"

"Maybe. But I haven't seen Maggie in a few days." He said, closing his eyes. "We could ask Lilith. She lives a few blocks from here."
