Eyes narrowing down into red slits, the menacing leader of the Horde made his way across the rough terrain of the woodland.
Well.... he wasn't exactly a leader much anymore.
Wiping the sweat from his brow, he stiffened at the sound of an unknown noise. Halting in his tracks, he awaited more movement.
Beast Island.
He hated this place with a burning passion. Yet, although it was said to be dangerous and impossible to escape from, nothing stopped him from going.
The moment he heard the words of her betrayal, he never knew what to think. He was used to being betrayed, used, and insulted, as he had been most of his life; but something inside of him prevented him from believing his lab partner had betrayed him. She wouldn't....
And she didn't. Catra had sent her to this wretched place in an attempt to convince him that she had betrayed him.
When he heard those words... that she was still out there, that she hadn't betrayed him after all...
He shook his head, concentrating.
It didn't matter anymore. The past was in the past. What mattered now was finding her. He realized he needed her more than he originally thought, more than he thought he could need a person. Something about her made him... different. Less of a menacing leader, and less of a... defect. She never thought of him as either of those things....
He continued forth, seeing as the noise had died down.
He didn't need the Horde. He didn't need his leadership position. He didn't need to please Horde Prime. He needed absolutely no-one but...
His breath caught in his throat, spotting an all-too-familiar figure ahead of him.
Her.
There she was, and yet as he looked upon her with his red eyes alight with shock and disbelief, she seemed foreign to him. He froze in his place, staring at her. Words seemed to leave his mind completely.
And he wasn't the only one having this trouble.
She saw him too.
The two stared into each other's eyes for a long time. He couldn't see her face, as it was covered by her signature mask, but he knew she was looking at him as much as he was at her.
Then, a new noise rose. A noise he had been waiting to hear for so long, he had nearly forgotten how much he had missed it.
"Hordak?" She spoke ever so softly, her gentle voice was almost unheard. She stepped closer, inch by inch, as if unsure of what to do. "Why did you come here...?"
His body began to move on its own. Before he could register what was happening, he found himself at her side, his arms wrapped around her in a tight hug.
"You." Was the only word he could whisper, tears welling in his eyes.
He felt her arms wrap around him, holding him close. The two stayed in each other's embrace for a long time.
They were both a mess. Beast Island had taken its toll on them both. Physically and mentally, they were exhausted. But being together again after so long made all of their days of struggle worth it.
They pulled away only minutes later. Hordak looked at her, placing his hand near her mask. He paused, being sure that she was comfortable with him taking it off, before gently pulling it upwards and revealing her face.
It took everything within him to not stare at her beautiful features again. Instead, he reached upwards, and, using the same hand, he wiped a few tears from her brilliant magenta eyes.
"You came," She said, as though she was questioning if she was dreaming.
"Yes, I came." He smiled at her. His fingers somewhere along the way found themselves intertwined in her own, but both of them didn't mind.
"I knew you would." She sniffled. "After a few days, I admit I was uncertain. But something just prevented me from giving up all hope."
"I would go anywhere for you," The words escaped his mouth quickly before he could realize what he was saying, but he didn't care. His world was back. She was safe. And that's all that he cared about.
"I would go anywhere for you too," She smiled, and his heart began to beat just a little faster. "But where should we go now?"
"As long as I'm with you, Entrapta," He let the words openly fall from his lips this time. "Nothing else matters to me."
"I..." Before he could finish his sentence, she reached up to him using her prehensile hair, wrapped her arms around his neck, and placed her lips softly against his own.
Quickly, she pulled away, just as shocked as he was. "I'm sorry, I just— I don't know what came over me... I'll have to study this later, this is a new feeling I've never experienced before! I mean, I've taken some notes of this before, because this isn't the first time you've made me feel this way, so I'd just have to add—"
"Entrapta, it's okay," He laughed at her rambling, a light blush crossing over each of their faces. "I love you too."
"Love..." She echoed the word, as if pondering its meaning.
"Yes." She held his hand closer to her own. "That's it. That's the feeling."
He kissed her gently again before pulling away with his fingers still intertwined with hers. Looking into her bright eyes again made him feel whole. He realized so many times in his head as he travelled into the wretched lands of Beast Island and especially now, he didn't need any special suits or heavy armor, nor did he need any weapons of any sort to feel complete. He just needed her.
For she was his everything: and nothing would ever separate them ever again.
