READER'S POV
Oh god. Oh god why. Everything hurts. I feel like my throat's closing, it's so hard to breathe. I need oxygen! H-help. I-I don't k-know what t-to do!
THE ROOM'S SPINNING! HELP ME!
RHYS' POV
As I strode through Ava's hallways, just finishing a talk with Lady Grandma, I heard shallow breathing and panting from the other room. Along with Leif and Pierce's mumblings.
WHAT DID THEY DO?!
I rushed into the room to find Y/n on the floor shaking, while Leif and Pierce stood on the sides. Pierce began speaking to Y/n, but I don't think she heard. Or if she did, it made her worse.
"What did you do?" I spat, glaring towards the obviously guilty white haired man. He flinches under my harsh stare, unnerved to be shouted at by me. He should've expected it, they do tease me about my feelings for her. Damn it.
"Y/n are you alright?" I asked, kneeling down to her level. She peeked out from behind her hands, but immediately covered her face again, more uncontrollable sobs escaping from her mouth.
Did I do something wrong? I asked myself. Impossible, Leif and Pierce are the ones who caused this, not me... but why is she so scared of me?
I thought back to when I first met her; she was always so close to Ava, either holding hands or Ava holding onto her arm.
Cautiously, I reached my hand out towards the h/c's haired girls body. But it was no use if she didn't even see it. Sighing, I stood up and walked closer, sitting down a foot away from Y/n's body. It's important to keep one's distance but still find a way to comfort.
"Y/n," I called gently, causing her to look up at me. I held out my hand, not too close as to scare her away, but to calm her down instead. Her e/c hues darted from my hand to my face, as if asking for confirmation. And, as much as I would like to deny thinking this at such a time, it was cute.
I gave her a small smile, nodding. With teary eyes, she placed her trembling hand into mine. They were so warm. My stomach felt fuzzy, but now was no time for that.
Slowly, I lowered our hands to the floor, hers under mine.
"Wow," Leif murmured. I glared daggers at him, why won't he shut up? Y/n moved her hand a little. I perked up then turned to her, smiling.
She gazed at the ground, a bright red blush spreading across her face. Curiously, I opened my mouth to speak,
"Do you want something?" I asked kindly. Y/n bit the inside of her cheek, which gave me a chance to notice that her breathing had slowed. Good. Not only that, but the the tears stopped flowing. The only tears that remained were the ones that stained her rosy cheeks.
"U-um," she stuttered, bringing my attention back to her. I looked at her curiously, waiting for her to continue. "W-will y-yuu.. um. C-can I h-hug you?" she whispered, blushing towards the ground.
I nodded without thinking, shuffling closer to her. Y/n flinched, but inched towards me eventually.
She now was settled in my arms, her head against my chest. I believe she's fallen asleep, since she was snoring softly. How adorable it was that she could clam down like this. I hope she couldn't hear my heartbeat, it was going so fast it could potentially disturb her sleep.
The feeling of warmth I had on my hand was now on my whole body. It was so nice and friendly, it felt like home. Closing my eyes, I propped my chin atop Y/n's hair with ease and breathed in her scent. It was so sweet, just like her.
I secured my arms around her tighter.
I love you Y/n.
I hope you know.
