A/N - sorry for any mistakes :) enjoy...x

It’s exactly two hours and fifteen minutes after I left Nicole’s’. I’m extravagantly dressed, just as he asked and so is he. He’s in a black suit and tie and I’m in a black dress. He wanted to go for the Mr & Mrs Smith look. We’re sitting on a table alongside his fellow footballers and their other halves. It’s an awards ceremony and James, as usual was getting an award. I keep my distance between the girlfriends/wives simply because we’re like oil and water. We just won’t mix. So I’m literally by myself as James is busy in a conversation with his friends.

So many thoughts are running through my head but one is persistent. How will I end this relationship because it has too end. I excuse myself and leave for the toilet, I wasn’t gonna sit there and bore myself to death. I walk in the toilets and smile. It’s one of those exquisite ones that are quite big and lush and have sofas forming a lounging area. I sat down, I was gonna spend most of my time tonight right here. I received lots of compliments for my dress and how I looked, I smiled and thanked them. On the inside, I was dying.

It felt like hours before I heard a massive round of applause and that was my queue to leave the toilet. I went back to the ballroom and sat down. James had just received his award and gave his speech, he was heading back to sit next to me. I gave him my biggest smile, hugged him and kissed him as he sat down. He scooted closer to me and put his hand on my lower back. He looked worried.

“Are you alright?” he asked.

“Yes. Sure.” I lied nodding. He still kept his gaze on me and I gave in. “Okay I’m not feeling too good.”

“Let’s go then.” He says getting up. There were other going-ons that people wouldn’t have noticed us.

“What? Home?” I ask still sitting.

“Not yet. I still have that surprise for you.” He beamed. I got up and joined him. As we left a flock of paparazzi followed, we got into his car and he drove away. In the car I didn’t bother asking any questions, something else was on my mind. We got to what looked like a country-side with mass empty farms on both sides of the road and he stopped the car. He got out and opened the door for me and led the way. We walked silently in the dark. It was very late at night near early hours of the next day. Me in my black dress and heels, him in his suit and tie. He came to a stop and looked ahead.

“The view is magnificent.” He says. I follow his eyes and stare in awe. The view is beautiful. The sky was dark and there were a very few twinkles in the sky. We stood there staring before he held my hand and brought himself down on one knee. I stood there frozen to the floor. My face froze with shock. I looked at him as he spoke.

“In the five months I’ve known you, it felt like I’ve won the lottery every single day. I love you Selina Clarke and I’ll love for you to be Mrs Perry.” He says. He clears his throat and continues. “So please, Selina Clarke will you do me the honour of being my wife?”

My eyes watered and I couldn’t believe what had just happened.

“Please stand up James.” I said. He got up, wiped his trousers and looked at me for an answer. “Please take me home.” I merely whispered as I started sobbing. “I don’t feel too good.” He held face between his hands wiping my tears as I sobbed, asking me what’s wrong. He finally took me to car and we drove home with him occasionally rubbing my thighs, trying to console me. I didn’t know why I was crying, what was I gonna say to him?

When we got home I kept the conversation to a bare minimum and went straight to bed.

I didn’t sleep for  long and when i woke up James was in the depts of sleep. I crept out of bed and packed all my belongings haphazardly into two suitcases; whenever James was in deep sleep nothing and I repeat nothing could wake him up. I managed to get everything that belonged to me and stuffed them into my car. I didn’t leave any traces of myself as I drove off to my apartment. Reaching my apartment, with the spitting image of a crazy bag lady, I gather my stuff and take them into my apartment in turns. Finally, I get everything inside and sit on the couch. I noticed the darkness and looked at the clock. It was three in the morning. I took my phone from my bag, took out the simcard and snapped it in two before throwing it in the bin. I walked into my bedroom took my other simcard and put it into my phone. I put phone on my bedside table, took off the pyjamas I had on and climb into bed.
