Shoot imma be late agains! Lilah thought as she rushed through her changing, furiously brushing her teeth and braiding her hair back. It's only my first day and I'm only going to be 45 minutes early :((( 45 mins is no way going to be enough!
Lilah, toast in mouth and her backpack slung over her shoulder ran out the door: her mom had already left to work, and she assumed her brother was going wake up by himself: he was a late riser smh. Checking the time on her phone before sliding it into her jacket pocket, she hastily pulled out her earbuds from her backpack while running to the bus stop.
Sure enough, while she wasn't watching where she was going, Lilah tripped on the edge of the sidewalk. Basically, there's like 3 parts of the sidewalk: because of "community landscaping", on both the left and the right side of the actual sidewalk, there were flowerbeds that had all kinds of flowers and stuff. The left flowerbed helped separate the sidewalk from the road and well, Lilah tripped on the edge of the sidewalk and fell face-first into the right flowerbed.
In the split-second Lilah realized she was screwed, she let out a high-pitched yelp.
After being stuck frozen in the awkward position she fell into for a few seconds, Lilah realized she didn't die. Opening her previously tightly shut eyes, Lilah sat in the dirt for a few more seconds, debating on what to do next.
Ugh, my toast died :(( and my hair is now a mess. Lilah thought, mentally cursing herself for her clumsiness.
Because of instinct, when Lilah fell, her hands had automatically shot out and tried to brace most of the impact of her fall. Well, Lilah didn't realize that until after she got up, brushing dirt and flowers out of her hair and picking out leaves that snagged onto her school uniform. She realized all of that when a sudden throb of pain shot through her wrists as she tried to pick up her backpack. Yelping again, (Lilah yelps a lot) she rubbed and tried to examine them.
While doing so, she didn't realize someone had approached behind her...
