"I'll be there as soon as I can"
I couldn't stay at the gate forever so I started walking down the street I'd knew he'd drive down. Consumed by my own thoughts I tuned out the entire world around me.
My eyes became weighted and I began to slow my pace. I was brought back to my senses when I saw a bright white light in front of me. I quickly looked up to see what they belonged to and saw a car pull up next to me.
"Y/n babe come here." He rushed out of the drivers seat of his car and sprinted towards me wiping my tears and calming me.
"Chris!" I took absolutely no time to hesitate and ran into his arms. My tears streaming down my face twice as much. "Chris? No wallaby? Y/n what happened."
"Can we just leave and I'll tell you when we get home." He gave me a sympathetic look and nodded in agreement. He tossed my bag in the trunk and gestured for me to take a seat in the passenger seat.
As soon as I sat down in the seat I felt at ease. I felt as if I had no worries at all I felt free. Not long after we left I fell asleep my head leaning onto Chan's shoulder.
Me and Chan go way back we were raised together his mom and my mom were best friends. They were pregnant at the same time and me and Chan are only one month apart he's older of course. In my opinion he uses it to his advantage way too much.
Yes Chan was also brought up in the mafia, the same as me. We've been inseparable since birth we just seemed to always cling to each other no matter what. We have a special connection that not many people get.
After what seemed like an hour we arrived in the drive way of Chan's home. The last time I visited his place he lived in a one bedroom apartment, he only lived there to save money so one day he could eventually buy a house.
It was actually quite big, bigger than I had expected it to be. My eyes were still heavy so I was in and out of sleep once we arrived. He could tell I was exhausted so he gave me the key to get in the house while he grabbed my stuff.
We made it inside and he directed me towards one of he guest rooms. "You can stay here as long as you need to babe." I smiled in content at his pet name. "Thanks wallaby." At that I plopped down on to the bed and sighed.
"There's the old y/n I was beginning to get hurt thinking you didn't remember the nickname you gave me." He put his hand on his heart pretending to be wounded.
"How could I forget when I'm reminded every time you open your mouth." I chuckled as I noticed he had his mouth open agape from shock.
Back when our moms were pregnant we were both born in Australia I lived there for a while but then moved. I had a slight accent but nothing compared to Chris. He lived there way longer than me too, but eventually moved to Korea with his mom after his parents got a divorce.
When we had met again I couldn't help but notice how strong his accent was, so I called him wallaby and it just stuck. He never seemed to mind so I just kept up with it.
"So are you finally ready to tell me what happened?" I let out a prolonged sigh and patted the spot on the bed next to me so he could comfortable for the long, long story.
The whole time I was telling him the story he would make the weirdest facial expressions and I couldn't help to crack a little smile at them. He would give me confused looks but I just ignored him and kept on with the story.
"What an asshole, instead of just assuming things he could've listened to you. I'm gonna go beat his ass be right back." Chan has always been my protective brother figure but I couldn't help but love that about him.
He always knew what to say and when to say it. Sometimes he had quite a mouth on him that would often get him in trouble but I was always there to bail him out. Our moms used to call us the delinquent duo. I think it fit our personalities perfectly.
"You don't have to do that wallaby just stay here with me please." His expression softened as he made his way back to the bed to lay down.
He pulled me into his chest and I inhaled his scent deeply and all my problems slowly subsided. I signed with satisfaction and began to drift into a peaceful dreamless sleep.
Chan POV
I looked at her sleeping figure and smiled to myself admiring how effortlessly beautiful she was. I sat in silence as I listened to her even breathing as she slept.
"You drive me crazy y/n I wish I could just show you how much I care for you." I planted a soft kiss on her forehead before slowly joining her in sleeping.
Back to y/n POV
As soon as I was sure he was asleep I opened my eyes and looked at him peacefully sleeping. I wasn't asleep I heard everything he said and if we're being honest it hurt me. Not because of him having feelings for me but because he didn't think I'd understand.
Chan and I had a complicated relationship we were each other's first kiss. We had decided that we'd rather do it with each other knowing we'd love each other forever than with someone that would break our hearts.
We agreed there was no feelings attached and that it was just a kiss. It seemed to work for the time being that we both had relationships and went separate ways for a while.
I just didn't think things would actually come to this. I knew I loved Chan but did I love him like that? Could I love him like that?
