It was a warm and humid day on the bayou. My team and I were on the hunt to find and tag endangered manatees. Then we would check their health and population size. We come across many manatees with scars from boat propellers which have gotten infected.
My name is Alexander Morgan and I am a marine biologist studying the manatees of Florida's Everglades. My friends and family say I have a love for the manatees of Florida, but love is an understatement.
I grew up watching manatees in nature and on television. I loved the way they move through the swamp. Like majestic cows gliding across the riverbed. They always have been dear to my heart and when I heard they were endangered I knew I had to do something about it.
I fear that my love for manatees has grown too strong and that I won't be able to control myself. If my crew finds out about this I could be forced to resign.
