I never thought I would be laying in a hospital bed holding one baby while Grayson holds another.
They were mine.
Ours.
"Sorry to ruin the moment but we need to take them to get weighed, measured, get their footprints, etcetera." A nurse informs us.
"Ok." I hand my baby to her carefully.
"Dad, would you like to come with the babies or stay with mom?"
"Umm-," He stutters And looks down at me questioningly.
"It's ok, go with them. I'll be ok."
"You sure?"
I smile at him reassuringly and nod.
"Ok, I'll be back soon." He squeezes my hand before exiting the room with the babies.
He's gonna be the best dad ever. I can already tell.

I'm currently resting in the recovery room when I hear a knock at the door before it opens to reveal a tall, good looking, male nurse.
"Hi. Are you Vanessa?" He asks, looking down at the clipboard in his hands.
"Yeah. Hi."
"Hi. They sent me in to check you out."
I gave him a look and he immediately went to defended what he just said.
"Wait- no- that came out wrong. I meant check how you're doing. I didn't- I mean I wasn't-..." he scratched the back of his neck nervously and I giggled.
"No no, it's ok. I know what you meant, mister...um..."
"Oh, sorry. Hi, I'm Charlie." He held his hand out to shake mine.

"I just need to check your blood pressure really quick."
(*Checks blood pressure*...lol I'm not gonna write all that)
"How are you feeling?" He asks after undoing the blood pressure wrap (thing).
"Better." I state.
"That's good." He says, sitting down on the chair next to the bed and getting out a thermometer.
"I just gave birth Charlie, I'm not sick!" I laughed.
"I know, but they always make us check. Don't ask me why." Charlie says through a slight laugh as well.
He takes my temperature and just as he finishes, Grayson walks in.
